Enjoyed the dim sum

We only ate two dim sum dishes, but both were really good. Too much mock meat, we prefer veggies.

Yummy

If you are one of those people that like their food served fast, pay little and eat a lot, this is your spot. Everything I tried was really good too!

Chef Kenny Does It Again!

This restaurant just opened and we couldn't wait to try the vegan dim sum., Unfortunately, it will be another month before dim sum is actually added to the menu, but his current offerings are full of flavor: classic Chef Kenny food we know from his other restaurant, and always a pleasure to eat.

We ordered the tasty vegan dragon roll, which instantly disappeared before I could take a picture. We also ordered the rainbow shrimp, which featured eye-poppingly realistic-looking and textured shrimp with broccoli and snow peas in a light sauce. The curry vegetables with tamarind sauce came in a generous bowl. The flavorful marriage of curry, tamarind and coconut milk covered a mixture of veggies and we could not stop eating it!

Chef Kenny knows how to cook vegan Asian food like no one else! He works on his creations until they are good enough to fool many meat eaters. It's hard to believe the shrimp are not real shrimp, and the vegan chicken, beef, sushi are such good copies that you sometimes wonder if they truly are vegan (they are!).

The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and there's more space than in Chef Kenny's Asian Restaurant on Spring Mountain. We were lucky to run into Chef Kenny himself on this visit and he proudly showed us the specially built dim sum carts. This will be one of very few restaurants anywhere that serve a vegan version of those delectable dim sum dishes! Knowing Chef Kenny's talents, I have no doubt that the dim sum will be fantastic!

September 22, 2021 UPDATE:
Finally tried the dim sum and it did not disappoint! My Singaporean Chinese (non-vegan) friend, who grew up eating fantastic dim sum, pronounced them delicious!

Chef Kenny’s Dim Sum restaurant, a must try.

I finally made it to Chef Kenny’s Dim Sum restaurant. I ordered take away instead of dining in. I got three of my all-time favorites, shu mei, tofu (yuba) rolls, and eggless tarts.
I think the tofu rolls could use more sauce, there was no sauce due to too much corn starch was used so there was lumps no sauce so they were a bit dry. The eggless tart outer pastry tasted like buttery sugar cookie. I was anticipating it to me more light and flaky like phyllo dough. The shu mei filling was very tender and a bit mushy. I wish there is a bit of variations in the texture.
Overall, I think there are many great selections and choices. I would love to experience more items on the menu so I will return for more vegan dim sums.

Good food that hits all the right spots

We are big fans of the original Chef Kenny’s restaurant, so we were excited to try this new place. The Dim Sum options were amazing and my wife was very happy to have vegan options from her childhood. Everything was amazing, and we can’t wait to go back.

So good

As usual, Chef Kenny is amazing. I love this restaurant even more than the other because it’s bigger and the menu is the same as the other restaurant but also has dim sum. The Dim Sum is so so so good! My non-vegan boyfriend loves everything chef Kenny does. My vegetarian mom came to visit and requested Chef Kenny’s twice. She wished they had a chef Kenny’s in NYC. Anyway here are the Chef Kenny’s items we love:

Orange chicken (bf was like “are you sure this is vegan?” The first time he had this dish)
Spicy Tuna Sushi (another item bf was stunned was vegan)
Beef with broccoli
Braised Tofu (my mom loved this dish)
Crunchy roll (so good)
Cream Cheese Fried Wontons (SO GOOD)

We tried the dim sum the other day and it was so so good! We love the bbq pork steam buns, shrimp dumplings, tarts and sweet rice vegan pork dumplings.

Truly anything Chef Kenny creates is astounding.

Pros: Everything is good, So many options (all delicious), BEST VEGAN SUSHI EVER!

Cons: None- it’s amazing.

A NEW FAVORITE

What can I say... everything about this restaurant and menu is damn near perfect. The staff are attentive and sweet, and the menu is huge! The vegan dim sum and pork buns were unreal. Haven't had steamed buns that good since I was in Japan. I wish they had an LA location!
Meat eaters would be fooled by this menu..Chef Kenny is a wizard!

New favorite restaurant

In a trip to Vegas my husband and I came here twice in the short time we were here. We were impressby the large menu and took on trying just about every dim sum item listed. Everything was phenomenal!! It was impressed by the flavor of everything! We especially loved the custard tart on the dim sum menu and the spicy crust beef on chef Kenny’s specialty. Would recommend 10/10 and I can’t wait to come back!

Pros: Big menu, DIM SUM!!

Excellent food

Everything I've had here is outstanding. So far, this includes six of the 12 items on the Dim Sum menu, Vegan Spicy Tuna Roll, and Spicy Veggie Mongolian Beef. The aesthetics, atmosphere, and service at this restaurant are also very good. It's a bonus to have Chef Kenny himself visit your table to see how you're enjoying the experience.

Just as good as the other location!

The main menu is the same as Chef Kenny’s Asian Vegan. Those are just as good across both locations. The dim sum items are pretty good too though, especially the barbecue buns and wontons.

Disappointing experience

Ordered online through their website. Called 70 minutes later when food still wasn’t here. They said it was through a 3rd party despite it being their website. In all waited almost 2 hours and the food was cold and bland.

Pros: Vegan

Cons: Experience , Flavor, Timing
