We had curry an bun quay. It was delicious. Fried tofu and mushrooms... out of this earth. Crème brulé very very good. Would recommend to everyone.

Delicious fake meat - Edit
The fake meat was out of this world. I never thought I would taste something so like pork again. We ordered the starter waffle, bun quay, bun cha and the crème brulee. Everything was delicious. The decor was very strange and could do with updating.

Best Tofu of my life - Edit
We had an amazing dinner. All dishes were very tasty and the fried tofu was to die for! Absolutely recommended. Best Vietnamese of our lives. Plus, they helped us in making an easy dish for our 2 year old with rice and veggies which he also loved😄

Molto buono - Edit
Confermo che il cibo è davvero buono. Piatti super colorati e porzioni abbondanti. Non do 5 stelle perché il posto è molto trasandato. Piastrelle del pavimento rotte e sporche, tavoli messi a casaccio, arredo confusionario...peccato.

Amazing vegan place - Edit
The place is a bit out of the way but sooo worth it. We absolutely loved everything we had here. So many options to choose from. We ended up going for starters mains and the dessert to try as much as we could 😋 The waffle and the dumplings were really tasty starters. For the main course we did Tau hu ky and Luc lac. Really interesting texture and flavour in the soy chunks. And last but not least the Créme brûlée was a nice dessert 😊

Cons: Needs more staff. They were a bit swamped.

Shining pinnacle of vegan cuisine in SVG - Edit
If you visit Stavanger and you are vegan, you HAVE TO visit Chay. The options for fully vegan restaurants might be few and far between here in Stavanger but this restaurant achieves greatness fully by merit and not by lack of choice. The menu is tidy and with enough options to provide variety according to your taste yet leaves nothing on the table. It is exquisite and so creative for such an under appreciated Asian cuisine here in Northern Europe.

Best of Norway! - Edit
Easily the best meal I've had in Norway so far! The waffle was such an inventive fusion with the green curry paste rice, and I have no idea how they got the soy chunks in the tau hu ky dish so tender. This was also one of the more affordable meals, around the same price for an appetizer and two mains as we paid for fast food tacos in downtown Stavanger.

Slow service, tasty food - Edit
We waited about 30 minutes for the food and we were the first costumers into the shop which I found kind of surprising. Could image that you would wait for a long time if there were other people here.
Read moreWe ordered Bun Quay (rice noodle salad with tofu wrapped in pastry dough and Peking sauce), Tau Hu Ky (noodles, broccoli and soy strips) and Dau Hu (rice with sweet and sticky tofu on top). I think the Tau Hu Ky was the best and the Day Hu was really good as well. I wouldn’t order the Bun Quay again.

Food was really fresh and 'clean' for want of a better word. Tasted great and I felt well sated after my Dumplings starter (definitely get these, they're so crispy and delicious!) and tofu main.

I enjoyed the Bun Quay. I wanted the summer roll as well but that wasn’t available. Also wanted to try more items but they are a little pricey for the portion. Still, tasty food.

Great food, improvable service - Edit
The food here was just perfect. The fried soy chunks with rice (luc lac) were very delicious, as well as the fried dumplings and the creme brulee. Generally the staff was very kind and there was a bottle of water served as a welcome.
Read moreAs they are a fully vegan restaurant with such nice food, my heart bleeds for only giving four stars.
The negative aspects were:
- The main dish was served after more than an hour (appetizer and dessert were delivered in a reasonable amount of time)
- It was not straight forward to get a server to the table when we had a request
- The servers did not take away used dishes when they visited the table
- The bathroom was improvable, e.g. by refilling the paper towels.

You can pick anything in the menu and it will be delicious (believe me, I did). The wafles are especially recommended as they are different and delicious. Portion size is just ok, I always ordered some extra rice to feel full.

Amazing food! - Edit
Highly recommended. The other Happy Cow reviews were spot on. Great food. There were six of us which made the service a bit slow but well worth it. Super friendly staff. The Waffle appetizer is a must! Sweet and salty, surprising “green pandan leaf sticky rice.” Everything 100% vegan. We even splurged for the creme brulee.

Ordered the red curry and one noodle dish. Amazing food, really tasty. Not huge portions so feel free to an appetiser. We added spring rolls and dumplings which were also great.
