Vida dinner - Edit
Good location, although for us too cold and loud inside the restaurant so it was nice to have the outside seating option. Food wise Vida Enchiladas, Nachos Vida and Yucca Street fries all good. Really liked the Capirotada/Mexican Bread Pudding too. All good sized portions too. Would like to try a Vida bowl next time, although we won't be regulars due to the prices being a bit high for us.

Top notch experience - Edit
Vida is going for an overall healthy vibe, so the menu has numerous vegan(plant based on their menu) and vegetarian meals. Even the happy hour (until 6pm) has 4 vegan items including tacos. I was there with two other vegans. We were all pretty blown away. If you’ve had tumerico (which I love) I think this compares well. It’s perhaps a bit more upscale/sit down than tumerico which is a bit more Mexican street-food diner. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. They anticipated concerns such as the soup appearing to have meat(jackfruit) or stating that the cheese and sour cream on the plates were confirmed vegan before bringing them out.

Good but expensive - Edit
There are good and gourmet burgers, bowls (vida bowls) with variated and savory ingredients. However, it is expensive. A lunch for two people can easily go to the >60 USD. Love their yucca fries.

The bowls are the best thing on the menu… - Edit
This restaurant has a huge vegan selection and super fresh and good food! I can’t believe it took us so long to try this place out but I definitely recommend trying once . The chimichangas are absolutely perfect but they’re a little smaller than I expected. The price is up there. We both got burritos and honestly it’s massive but we still weren’t full? I don’t know if it’s just us or what but that’s probably my only con.. And our bill was super expensive after drinks too but definitely worth trying once.

High-End Veg Mexican Gem in Tucson - Edit
We are visiting Tucson for the Gem Show and as the vegan on the team, I had to find a dinner to satiate everyone— this place is PERFECT. Huge menu: nourishing and plant-based, and adding animal protein is an option for every dish. Everybody is happy and full of healthy food! Wish they would open a Houston location! Great restaurant -- so many vegan options to choose from, it was difficult to decide. We shared a grain bowl and tacos, all vegan, all fabulous. Lots of interesting flavors. We can't wait to go back and try more.

just wow! - Edit
absolutely delightful. not you average options for a mexi restaurant. so i didnt love the texture of the jackfruit on top of the chimis (soft, i added it) but the taquitos with jackfruit we’re amazingggg! such good flavor! probably because it was just a little jackfruit. the chimis by themselves were really good as well, pretty much just cheese in the middle but their cheese is amazing. good planet, never tried it but it had no weird plasticky flavor most packaged cheese have, it was so good! i did have a quesadilla when i came back and it was really odd and creamy, did have a little bit of the plasticky flavor so i was confused but maybe its the difference in the type of cheese? not sure but the taquitos and chimis were to die for! hubby got the quesabirria tacos and he lovedddd them, still talks about them haha! they werent my favorite but they were probably just not my kind of flavors, they were really flavorful. other than that it has a really nice atmosphere and design. our server was really sweet and the lady i ordered takeout from was wonderful, really helpful with suggestions. oh also their guac is amazing! it’s a chickpea/avo guac mix but i couldnt even tell. i was so happy i got the nutrients from a little chickpeas in it, that was wonderful. will definitely be back every time we’re in tucson!

So many vegan options! - Edit
We ate here after getting off of our plane and the food was fantastic. I’m the only vegan out of 6 and everyone tried our vegan apps & loved it. The appetizers were the best to share! I was nice to have options for all. The menu is very busy but clearly labeled! Some of the best vegan food I’ve had! Super cute atmosphere.

we all need a vegan nutella tamal in our lives - Edit
Charro vida is a charming overall experience, so far the best in Tucson offering vegan options. Since the shabby chic mexican decoration, a small terrace with mountains view, the music, friendly personal and a well form menu that includes variety of cocktails you can't go wrong at any choice because they have fresh and selected products, everything is perfect. As they have a separete cooking area for plant base meals they deserve a full star.

Worth a full star rating for the churros alone... - Edit
We had two entrees, a dessert, and two drinks and it all came to $50, so we felt like it was a pretty great deal! Plus came with chips and amazing housemade salsa.
Read moreI ordered one of the combos which came with an enchilada, a flauta, their mixed grain blend, and chickpea-bean stew, topped with a little cabbage salad. I didn't care for the enchilada. It was listed as containing "vegan queso" which was really just commercial cheese shreds - Daiya or a cousin. This is a theme so if you are not a fan of Daiya/FYH or that "category" of cheezes then just be careful what you order.
The cabbage salad was incredible as was the flauta and the chickpea-white bean mix. The ancient grain and peas blend was yummy, but did have a heavy taste of vegan butter. All in all it was a very satisfying plate of food.
My partner had the tamale plate. It appeared at least one of the tamales had some of the cheese in it too, FYI. Otherwise, both were delicious and interesting.
We had the gluten-free chocolate churros with elderberry sauce for dessert and I could die happy. Absolutely incredible. Also had the horchata cold brew and a plain horchata for my partner. We were super happy and full.
Edit: went back a second time. Got the tempeh asada bowl, jackfruit taquitos, and street fries. Everything in that meal was 10/10 again. This place is so great.
What a wonderful place with many creative plant-based options on the menu. They do serve meat but I'd describe the menu as 65% vegan. There is still more I want to try. It seems like they also have a lot of vegan staff, from chatting with some of the people who worked there. Definitely a great place to support, with super unique (but almost completely Mexican influenced) food.
Pros: Very reasonably priced, Creative vegan food you couldn't get anywhere else, Conveniently located near hikes!
Cons: A lot of commercial cheese substitute, Not a pedestrian friendly area

Wow! - Edit
Can't say enough good things about this restaurant! Many vegan options on the menu and that is so satisfying! Plant-based cheeses, sauces, interesting combinations, jack fruit meat substitutions. Also, many, many gluten free options. It is a combination of Mediterranean and Mexican and it works! You won't find it anywhere else. (And that is unfortunate!) I wish you would take your wonderful creation on the road and open one in every city I visit.
