Tiny Spot, Huge Flavor — A Must-Visit Vegan Gem in Beijing 🇨🇳 - Edit
The food here was truly amazing—everything we tried was delicious. While the service was a little slow, the quality of the food more than made up for it. This is a very small restaurant with only a few tables, so it feels intimate and cozy.
Read moreThe homemade noodles and dumplings are an absolute must-try and the fried tofu was also outstanding—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Despite the wait, this place easily earned a spot in our top five restaurants we ate during our 2 weeks in China.
If you’re in Beijing, I highly recommend coming here.

I had the Hunan Style Tofu which was delicious and had a good amount of spice. Wish it would have been a bigger portion so. The Mountain delicacy rice wrap were two pieces, a bit small, but also very tasty!

Excellent small vegan restaurant - Edit
A very good restaurant with diverse vegan dish. The restaurant is quite small, less than 10 tables so it can be filled quite quickly. The staff is very friendly and speaks English and a little bit French.

Great vegetarian and vegan food, but a bit pricey for Beijing so expect a lot of foreigners/tourists. Helpful staff that speaks English. Not too many tables, so it fills up quickly

We had most of the dishes which were all delicious. Did however leave hungry, which for me is a minus. Prices are allright.

Hidden Gem with Great Service - Edit
The food was very well prepared and had a unique perspective, creating new dishes instead of copying standard dishes with fake meat. They are making good blends and mouth sensations with vegan ingredients. Our waitress, Ivana_guo, was very helpful not only with food, but she also gave me a lot of vegan tips for finding good restaurants that are vegan-friendly. I would definitely return the next time I am in China. This is where I learned about HappyCow!

Adorable place with excellent service - Edit
We had a great experience overall at chaochao. The restaurant is small but cute. They have very interesting items on the menu that were so fun to try. The food was good, but what really blew us away was the excellent service. Our servers were attentive and helpful. We ordered the tofu sticks, which normally comes with two but since there were three of us dining they gave us an extra which I thought was very considerate. Our servers also both spoke English which was helpful. I’d definitely go back to chaochao!

What a wonderful surprise! The waitress explained that the food is a fusion of different Chinese regional cuisines, with touches of Japan (thanks to the use of miso) and Korea (with kimchi). I loved the creativity, explosion of flavors, and the beautiful presentation of the dishes. The staff is adorable and speaks great English 🥰

Tiny but excellent and creative little restaurant! - Edit
The menu is really interesting here: it’s lots of traditional Chinese cuisine with very creative spins on it. It’s kind of tapas style as well, so you can order tons of different dishes and get to try a lot of unique things. And I completely second everyone here who has mentioned how sweet the staff is as well, they really elevated the experience with lots or warmth and smiles, as well great sake recommendations. And they speak English, too 😁
