Serves meat, vegan options available. Chinese restaurant offering a selection of labeled vegan dishes including vegetable chow mein, sechuan veggies with noodles, and family style tofu. Open Mon-Fri 11:30am-9:00pm.
The young woman at the counter said she’s not vegan so she can’t know if any items are vegan (??) and that she’s sure any of the vegetarian items would be fine. Fortunately a cook was standing by and said that they aren’t, but he could make us vegan food. Steamed vegetables. That’s it. Thanks for trying (?)
Chan’s Chinese & American is a homey little stop on your way through the outskirts of Oregon. they have about 3-4 vegan options (separate category in menu). i went the with schezuan veggies & white rice & was probably the best chinese i have had since going vegan. if you’re missing those lazy chinese takeout days you don’t really get anymore, Chan’s will gladly satisfy your taste buds.
p.s—they did not have soup that was vegan, but she still offered me soup with my meal so just make sure you don’t eat it, unless of course they now have a vegan soup.
They have an excellent Szechuan sauce and an excellent Kung Pao - Edit
They have an excellent Szechuan sauce and an excellent Kung Pao sauce both which are vegan. So all you have to do is ask for no meat and the tofu is fantastic.
