Vegan Georgian options - Edit
This was a bit of a revelation. The beetroot dish, roasted cauliflower and mushroom dumplings, in particular, were delicious. Attentive staff that can direct you around the well-labelled vegan options. If I were local, I’d be a regular.

Delicious! - Edit
Chama Mama is a great vegan option! I always get the vegan Lobiani with chili oil. It is delicious and super filling. A great atmosphere and lots of outdoor seating as well!

Solid food - Edit
The Lobiani (bread with beans inside) is good, make sure you order the vegan version. Also has plenty of staff and hasn’t been very loud when I have visited.

Georgian food - Edit
I went to Chama Mama on 14th Street, near 7th Ave. There are at least two of this restaurant in NYC.
Read moreThe food was very good, with a reasonable selection of marked vegan items. Lots of hearty beans and winter vegetables (I went in the fall, not sure how seasonal the menu is). I especially recommend the bread with beans inside.

Georgia on my Mind - Edit
I've been to Chama Mama previously, but never thought of recommending that it be added HappyCow--not because it isn't good, but simply because I rarely suggest adding non-vegetarian venues to HappyCow. Now that Chama Mama it has been added to HappyCow as a vegan-friendly place, however, I am happy to give this Georgian restaurant a good review.
Read moreThe food here is excellent, and--though it can get a bit busy--the staff is friendly and the atmosphere quite nice. They have a bunch of clearly marked vegan items, and It's best if you can share the plates with others. In all, one of the best vegan-friendly places on the Upper West Side.
Pros: Delicious, elegant, creative food, a bunch of clearly marked vegan items, somewhat upscale venue
Cons: They serve lamb, not inexpensive
