Had a blast Here! Really friendly staff, all vegan except for the lumpia’s 😁 I had a hot chocolate with whipped cream which was really good. Upstairs there’s a living room like room (with a cat 😃) and seems nice, I think it’s used for events but looks cozy

I came here with 3 friends hoping to get some good vegan food for dinner. We all ordered separate dishes to try different options. We ordered the mushroom stroganoff with rice, another ordered it with mei, and one ordered the jackfruit Rendang, and the other a mango curry.
Read moreFirst off this restaurant was not busy, only 4 other people were inside besides us. Food took over ONE HOUR to arrive! No explanation. Then once the food arrived, some of my friend's food was not hot enough, mine lacked flavor and had a strange taste that I couldn't eat it. I ended up leaving the plate full of food. Portions are small. Literally three spoons of rice was on the plate with the mushroom stroganoff. The chef came over to greet us and ask how are food was and we told her that we didn't like it and that it lacked flavor and was cold. She apologized and asked if we wanted dessert. We politely declined. We won't be coming back which is a pity because vegan options are limited in this area.
Lastly, this place lacks character. Decoration is also a bit tacky. It's not completely vegan, though they don't claim to be fully vegan, but if 99% of your menu is vegan, why put on the menu: "for the non-vegan guests, you can ask for mozzarella cheese". Why? That makes no sense. Who's running this place?

The menu is almost fully vegan, so in Valkenburg it is definitely the place with the most options. The food is nice (we also loved the pancake and vegan vlaai) and the owners are also heart warming. Would recommend to visit!

The description on HappyCow doesn’t really match the place: I’m 100 % vegan for the animals, and I felt right at home here. All the meals are plant based and vegan, including vegan vlaai, which was amazing, and the food was spectacular. They do find themselves in an area where vegans are almost non-existent, so they offer two side dishes that do have meat, in an attempt to lure in some of the local and touristic crowd. All in all, definitely worth a visit if you’re vegan and in the area, don’t let the description here fool you!

Very cozy and delicious food! - Edit
We visisted a month ago and were warmly welcomed by the owners. We went for some appetizers; freshly baked bread with different kinds of spreads. They were all really delicous! We also couldn't resist to try their homemade cherry pie and that one also did not disappoint. Very kind people and very cosy place. Had a nice chat with the lady and she even gave us some chocolates to take with us :)

We ate a very tastful jackfruit rendang which we chose out of many other vegan options. There are a few non-vegan options which cost extra compared to the mainly vegan dishes. The place deserves five stars to our opinion!

On the same day, we had lunch and dinner at Chalaza. Comforting lentil soup and bread with veggies for lunch. Plus vegan red wine as it was raming. So warming.
Read morePeople were very homely and welcoming. For dinner we had the 3 courses dinner: salad, bread and tapenades before, just delicious and pure flavours! For main, the jackfruit rendang and orzo, again fantastic flavours! All accompanied by vegan white and red wine 🍷
For dessert we had the vegan icecream with fruit and coffee with vegan chocolate, just yummie 💕
Overal a place we would return! Hope this will be a place where also non-vegans will discover how delicious plant based food can be! Good luck and thank you!

Don't be fooled by the description- this is an almost totally vegan bistro. We had the homemade bread with salad, a great pancake topped with lots of tasty fruit and washed it all down with a beer or two.

Super lieve eigenaren met een geweldige menukaart. Het is een huiselijk en gezellig pand. Je voelt je er warm en welkom. Er worden ook leuke evenementen georganiseerd met muziek. Wat ik ook erg mooi vond is het glas en lood raampje als je de trap op loopt😄
