Bougie AF. A visit w your rich new age aunt.

Someone said it was everything wrong w vegan food... let's process that together: menu is excellent. Plenty of vegan bowls, avo toast, and smoothies. But we need to talk abt prices...$46 w tip for 1 person breakfast?! Thats avo toast, a drip coffee, and a bowl.

Atmosphere is new age terraformed yoga mat with a layer of yoga pants wrapped around it. Plenty of soaps, candles, books, chocolate for sale. Plus plants, cheer up slogans, and a nest you can sit in though it looks like a leather couch. Not to fear, pillows abound. But keep your coat on it's chilly in here.

Music is loud, slow, rumbly, foggy, druggy, drizzly "hip hop jazz" beats. Newest way for white ppl to safely ingest pre-strained black culture.

Location is plopped in some kind of bougie af shopping center/over 55 community. So this is where boomer retirement dollars are flowing down into... table features a pop up ad for $83/day gut cleanse treatments...

On the service front, the attendants were very friendly and it's carry-from-counter, buss-your-own. My standard coffee seems to be taking _much_ longer than the food.

Honestly I wouldnt be cranky about it if it costed half the price. This is like NYC prices for what should be suburban fare. Im on a roadtrip so I kinda got to go the flow, but Poughkeepsie, man, yall gotta get some scrappier, vegan fare going! See Phoenix, Portland...

Something abt this place makes ppl want to be hyper polite. When the atrendant asked a man if he'd like a tray he said, "That would be excellent. I appreciate it, "as if compensating for draining off decades of middle class wages.

This place makes me think the debate about veganism as health/environment vs animal welfare should be expanded to include class warfare.

The nourish bowl is good tho it needed the tahini to be really good.

Avo toast is great. Good bread and tomatoes... not very spicy, but great bread. Coffee: no soy milk? Oat milk at least.

Pros: Avo toast, Tahini sauce, Atmosphere

Cons: Price

Eh

Has vegan options, but could easily swap some things to make it extra vegan friendly. (ie dairy free chocolate chips, etc). Also for a place touting healthy food, the ingredients used are not organic. For the price, it should be.

Cons: Not organic , Expensive

Take out is too small

I got a vegan oatmeal take out size and wow was it small and not pretty looking like anything on their instagram. It was like the size of a a small soup- a cup and a half. It tasted like cardboard.

Cons: Too costly for a small cardboard take out , No vegan bread for toast

Literally the best vegan focused menu around

Go weekly, easily best green foods place in the Hudson Valley! I've had everything, salads, bowls, the toast... they are fantastic and well portioned! Good value and leaves you actually full! The staff is really nice and they even have a nice rewards program!

Pros: Clearly labeled vegan options, Quality of the food, Clearly labeled allergy foods like nuts

Cons: Closes early except Thursday :)

Great smoothie bowl on my first visit

I enjoyed the smoothie bowl I ate on my first visit. Delicious after only oranges for a quick breakfast snack hours earlier. The restaurant was very pleasant and clean inside, if a bit antiseptic and chain-frozen-yogurt-store-like. Signs boast a superfoods orientation--a big plus for me. Menu featured a variety of smoothie bowls made up of bases and toppings. On the other hand, I asked about the salads mentioned as just one item on the menu, and the counter person just tentatively described one of them. More details about those on some form of menu would be a helpful addition. It was a bit cold inside, especially as a place to eat a smoothie bowl or another cold food. I left with my hunger satisfied and wish I could return frequently. (I do not live nearby.) Chakra Bowls is just off Route 55.

Pros: nice atmosphere--a bit like a frozen-yogurt place, health and nutrition emphasis, good variety of tasty juice-smoothie bar items

Cons: an easily correctable lack of info on salads, usual limitations of juice bars

BEWARE

they have no sign letting you know or have enough knowledge of letting some know that almonds are in their granola that they put in almost every bowl.
Non the less they gave me a caffeinated coffee with half and half as I strictly told them I was pregnant decaf only and that I had a milk allergy as well.

Cons: People, Service , Food

price

The owner offered samples to the customer in front of me and then didn’t offer any to me. The prices aren’t marked so you have to ask or be surprised. The portions are minuscule and the bowls are nothing you couldn’t make yourself at home. It’s the worst kind of white Veganism we’re all criticized for, great for rich yoga moms.
