Serves meat, vegan options available. Chabuton Ramen operates outlets across Japan - this one is on the 6th floor restaurant area in Yodobashi Camera building. Two of the items are vegan: choose ベジ野菜ラーメン、for vegetable ramen and ベジ餃子 for vegetable gyoza. You have to buy tickets from a vending machine, then show it to the waiter. Removed November 2021, no vegan options.

No vegan option - Edit
I've had the vegan ramen and gyoza here before. But when I visited on October 9th 2021, they were no longer available as options on the ticket machine. When we asked the staff they said that they are no longer selling them.

Very Filling - Edit
Fun to order from the machine and then present to the server. Very filling ramen, especially if you order the "extra noodles"... which you should. Also veggie gyoza. It's a fun department store building to check out, on its own.

Fresh ramen, amazing gyosa - Edit
The ramen has the most amount of fresh veg I’ve ever seen in a ramen, but it might not be to everyone’s taste.
Read moreTomato, avocado and arugula are odd choices and there isn’t a good amount of crispy lotus roots to balance the textures out. The broth has a yuzu aftertaste which I really like. Overall it’s a decent bowl of ramen.
The gyoza are great and I could eat more than 5 of them.
Pros: Amazing veggie gyoza, Good to see options in chains
Cons: Ramen texture on the soft side

Great to see options! - Edit
This was a transfer station for me. It wasn't super hard to find for me. Follow the map, and when you get to the building on the corner go to the 8th floor and look at the maps. The ramen was veggie heavy and delicious. The broth was clear but not light in a way that makes you leave hungry. The Gyoza was delicious. What I absolutely loved about this was that the vegan options weren't arbitrarily more expensive. The other ramen were mostly the same price or more expensive. I left full so I'd say give it a try.

Good Ramen, Great Gyoza - Edit
Came here for the ramen, but came back because the gyoza is so good! The vegetable ramen definitely has a different flavor than regular pork ramen, but is still tasty in its own way. I wish all gyoza places had a vegetable gyoza option. I could eat multiple plates of those!

Good ramen - Edit
I really liked this place because it is a normal ramen place with vegan option. It was tasty and cheap food. Would definitely recommend going there for a cheap meal. Didn't think I would like ramen with tomato and avocado in it but was really good!

So delicious! - Edit
I really loved this ramen. I loved that there were tomatoes and radish in it, a bit different from a classic ramen. Save some broth as they bring you more noodles when you ask for free. Also nice to have some gyoza too.

Fresh Ramen and Gyoza - Edit
A busy little restaurant with only one vegetable ramen and Gyoza option. But cheap and really delicious (I especially suggest trying the Gyoza as a starter).

A bit tasteless - Edit
If you are in a hurry and in need for foid this is okay. OtherwiseI recommend fonding another pkace for ramen. Ramdn has a lot of onion so late the waiters know beforehand if it is a problem.

Unusual but good taste! - Edit
The ramen contains avocado and other less stereotypically Japanese veggies so is a nice break from the usual vegan taste palette here in Kyoto (not that it’s not brilliant too!). I ate the gyoza so fast I didn’t get a photo of them. A nice choice if you are in Kyoto station but daren’t attempt to negotiate the maze of the station’s 14 or so floors.

Not bad ramen, good gyozas - Edit
Decent sizedsmealsi for the cheap price, can get a second serve of noodles too. Ramen broth was a bit bland but was much better with pepper and sesame seeds added (provided at table). Friendly and helpful staff and quick to get order.

Pretty cheap - Edit
Pretty cheap food, both the ramen and the gyōzas were okay, nothing overwhelmingly great, but nice food. We got the second serving of noodles and shared on portion of gyōzas and one portion of ramen. I'm not sure whether that's considered cheating the system, but no one said anything so we had a decent and very filling meal.

Delicious & Filling Ramen, fast service - Edit
The only two veg options, veg ramen (770 yen) and veg gyoza dumplings (320yen for 5 pieces), make for a filling meal, especially since it's possible to ask for a second serving of noodles (for free).
Read moreThe broth is delicious, with plenty of fresh and tasty vegetables (plus avocado: never thought of avocado in ramen, but it works!), and black pepper and dried yuzu to give it a nice kick.

Yum!! - Edit
Only two vegan/veg options here but both are delicious. Had the vegan ramen and gyoza, which makes for a filling meal. Since you buy food tickets for this ramen shop at a machine in the front, make sure to specify to the waiter that you would like the veg, not the meat gyoza (as “gyoza” is a singular ticket). Avocado in the ramen was a first but really tasty! Food is also served quickly, even though it was a bit busy when we came.

Vegan gyoza’s were great! - Edit
This place was easy to find and the food was really nice. Not the best ramen I’ve had in Japan but it was tasty and only ¥750. The gyoza’s were lovely! Would have happily had 5 portions! It was ¥350 for 5.

Love the veggie gyoza - Edit
Vegan ramen was very good, but I was most looking forward to the vegan gyoza recommended by Happy Cow-er's. At the ordering machine, there was only one button for gyoza. So, when the staff took my tickets, I made sure to request veggie gyoza. She understood and made sure that's what we got. And they were great!

The service is terrible - Edit
I ordered the vegan ramen and the vegan gyoza. I received the vegan ramen which was ok but I received chicken gyoza instead of the vegan gyoza that I had ordered.

just ok - Edit
it’s a treat whenever there are veggie menu options in japan, and i read so many rave reviews on the veggie ramen here that i was excited to try it! unfortunately, the broth was extremely bland and overly salty (this is someone who LOVES salt too) and the hot avocado in the ramen was just weird. skip the ramen altogether and get a double serving of the veggie gyoza- they are the better veg menu item

Unimpressed by the ramen - Edit
I wasn’t really impressed by the veggie ramen (avocado and tomatoes?) but for the cheap price it filled my stomach. I’m not a fan of gyoza at all but surprisingly I really enjoyed the gyoza at Chabuton - I might even go as far to say that it’s my favourite that I’ve tasted in Japan. Fast service where you pay first with a machine and give your ticket to the waitress, filled with office workers who want a quick meal before the grind behinds again.

Yasai Ramen not entirely suitable for non five pungents eaters - Edit
Do note that the Yasai ramen (新野菜らあ面) contains leek! Not too sure if it can be omitted though, as it seemed like its just used as a garnish. Veggie (べじ) gyoza looks safe though. Notwithstanding the leek garnish, the ramen soup tastes savoury and packed with flavour, almost similar to instant noodles soup *lol* good place to go to with non-vegetarian friends!
