OMG SO GOOD - Edit
I freaking LOVE Indian food, and I have visited this location twice, and have never been disappointed. Their staff are so knowledgeable about veganism, and can practically make any dish vegan. They are so accommodating and do not mind at all adjusting their dishes. The staff have always been so friendly, and they even remembered me from when I was there the first time - several months ago! Will definitely make this my first choice for Indian food in Ashburn.

Modern aesthetic Indian food - Edit
Rupa Vira's restaurants are very popular in NoVa, and my friends have said great things about her other restaurant, but I knew I had to come to this location for food. The ambiance of the restaurant was so peaceful yet modern. The lighting and the interior design really helped contribute to the fancy restaurant feeling. Even the waiters were kind and helpful. They introduced us to their popular dishes and explained what each dish consisted of. I think if you're looking for a fancy meal without breaking the bank, this is the perfect option for you. The highlight of this restaurant is the way they carefully plate each dish they give you. The aesthetic is the best part. The dishes they have are pretty basic for someone who eats Indian food regularly, but they've made these great variations to the classic dishes which makes you want to try it. My friend and I got the lotus root chaat and the butternut squash kofta. Classic malai kofta is made with potatoes and paneer, but this restaurant made it with butternut squash. I was a little skeptical with how it would taste but honestly I was surprised. In my opinion it tasted better than regular malai kofta!
Read moreWe ordered an appetizer, entree, 2 trays of naan, and an alcoholic drink and our total was under $60.
And we had plenty of leftovers! The only gripe I had was that they charge for sides that usually come with your entree at other restaurants. Usually gravy entrees come with rice at Indian restaurants but at this one you have to pay a little extra for it. Even sides like pickle, onion, etc are extra.
But other than that, I would definitely recommend coming to this restaurant for some tasty Indian food.

Great Vegan Modern Indian Cuisine in Northern VA - Edit
Outstanding modern Indian cuisine served in a fine-dining atmosphere. Many vegan or veganizable menu options-ask your server.
Read moreWe tried the Vegan Naan, the Kurkuri Tikki (potato cutlet appetizer with apricot marmalade and red pepper hummus). For our entrees we tried the Aloo Gobi potatoes and cauliflower (not on the menu - server suggested it) and the Sabzi Mandi (seasonal veggies in peanut-sesame gravy & goda masala). You may want to order the Sabzi medium heat-it's a very spicy dish.
Portions were generous and service was attentive. A bit pricey, but not unusually so for Northern VA.
Nov. '23 update: On our latest visit we tried a few other veganizable dishes. The Lotus Root Stem Chaat appetizer was crispy and delicious. We also enjoyed the Butternut Squash Kofta, served in a spicy, rich sauce.
