Be aware that the plant based menu is not all vegan. The plant based meat they use is "impossible" which is pretty controversial in the vegan world. Very unfortunate, because the falafels are delicious and I was very keen to try the new options before finding out the brand

Great vegan kebab - Edit
Can't believe I've been craving vegan kebab for so long and then found loads of options in a town in the mountains! So many options too! All the mezze are vegan and all the sauces are vegan! I took zhoug and garlic sauce (you get 2 per kebab or pay to have more) in my kebab made with the Impossible mince! Highly recommend but pls plan your trip to it in advance because their hours of work are short, they're always busy (we witnessed the opening hour queue) and they're takeaway only (just a few seats inside that you'd be lucky to get). The prices are decent too.

Not your typical Kabab joint that only slings falafel - Edit
This kebab and falafel house has so much vegan options to offer and it’s totally worth the queue and if you can make their Monday - Friday trading hours. All mezze is vegan, plant based protein and falafel made into kababs and snack packs

Fresh and flavourful - Edit
The vego chef here has created delicious vegan kebab options. I had the plant based kebab which was great and tried the falafels (some of the best I've had!) and kofta. Don't miss this if you are visiting Katoomba.

I dream about Cedar felafel rolls - Edit
All the salads and most of the sauces here are vegan. There’s also felafel and veggie kofta and faux meat. The food is to die for. The perfect balance of crunchy and soft and garlicky. I would have given 5 stars for the vegan food but The app doesn’t allow it unless it’s 100 percent vegan.

This "hole in the wall" eatery is recently refurbished and it looks great.
Read moreWe have bought Falafel's and the Lentil Kofta's along with the Tabouli and other Lebanese inspired trimmings. The bean and whole grain dishes are very tasty and the take home portions are very generous and packed in re-usable containers.
The owner is passionate about his food and his aim is to provide 100% plant based whole food options alongside the more "traditional" lamb and meat versions of kebabs and plates that unfortunately still a large percentage of diners expect....
We buy here a lot and hope that other Vegans and Vegetarians find this shop soon and support this great transformation of the original shop in Katoomba Street towards plant based menu offerings.
