good for a quick bite!

there are surprising few quick food options in the fenway area for us vegans! cava is a pretty well known chain that offers build your own bowls. they have falafel and roasted veggies for vegan protein options, the rest is pretty basic veggies/grains. roasted eggplant dip is to die for!

Pros: quick serve, build your own, affordable

Love the ‘build your own bowl’ option!

Cava is hands down my favorite salad place as they have so many options for their build your own bowls and you can really load them up! Love their vegan lemon Tahini dressing too: it’s really delicious!

Pros: Big portions , Fresh

Not bad, but not good either

Cava is another of those up-and-coming "make your own" food style chains. It's a mediterranean style Chipotle where one chooses bowl or wrap and then fillings/toppings to accompany.
They offer pita bread wrap or mixed grain and green bowls, falafel as a vegan protein option, spreads, and various veggie toppings and sauces.
I got a black lentil and baby spinach base, a scoop of hummus, falafel, grilled veggies and toppings like pickled cabbage, olives, and cucumber. Finally, I chose their lemon tahini sauce to finish off my bowl.

Overall, the food was filling and flavorful, though nothing spectacular. Everything was exceedingly greasy. Their falafel was actually quite disappointing. It had no flavor or texture, and it was way too greasy. I wish they had baked rather than deep fried it. The lentils and all their grain bases were shiny with oil in the pots they had them in. Their hummus was fine, and their various vegetable toppings were not bad, though not very varied. I topped my bowl with their seasonal Fall baked root vegetables and they were good, but again, way too oily.
I would not really recommend this place overall, as there are much better and tastier healthy fast food chains out there--not to mention significantly better falafel. This is a good enough option if it is the only option, and it is easy for a vegan to eat here, just don't expect a great meal.

Pros: fast, clean

Cons: greasy food, bad falafel
