Vegan St James and vegan canelé - Edit
As others have noted, the items made by this brand are vegan and they have their products at this bakery, but the bakery as a whole isn’t vegan.
Read moreWe arrived and the staff member also noted the cookie and the marble cake were vegan. So we got the marble cake and the vegan canelé and the vegan st James. (The canelé and st James were clearly labelled vegan, but there weren’t many St James’ and we arrived early). I also had an allongé. We sat outside and it was lovely. I’ve never had a non vegan canelé to compare but it wasn’t my favourite thing. The other two cakes were lovely and my coffee was nice. The staff member was lovely too

Different vegan options - Edit
The traditional cakes, as advertised on hc, are not vegan, ie the cannele and st james cake. However they have vegan strawberry brioche, lemon cake, cookie and cookie of the day. Its about 3€-2,5€ per cake. They have oat and almond milk
Read morePros: Very tasty, Very cute atmosphere , Nice location
Cons: Expensive, Dont have traditional vegan cakes

The cannele and the st James cake that are labelled vegan are obviously vegan. We got the second last vegan st James cake today so perhaps they’d sold out? We were early too

Vegan cannelé & Saint-James - Edit
It was my first time ever eating a cannelé, and Cassonade is a well-known pastry that offers a vegan cannelé (alongside non vegan) and Saint-James.
Read moreI did love so much the Saint James ! It was a nice discovery.
During weekend they also offer vegan pastry with Cerise Verte.
I forgot to take picture of the pastry but it was very beautiful too.
Pros: Saint-James

Great vegan pastry - Edit
I tried three different pieces of vegan pastry (appreciated the selection a lot!), all great, but I must admit it was the most expensive coffee in my life

Only Vegan Canelè (Bourdoux speciality) and tastes super good! - Edit
Read they were closed on mondays and my heart broke. BUT THEY WERE OPEN! Check Google for hours. And we bought the vegan Canelè and the St. James vegan cakes... Blown away. We were so happy to be able to enjoy Bordeoux's specialty in a vegan way. Absolutely worth a stop, weekdays there's less of a line I believe. Very fairly priced too, a bit too fairly. I bought so many!

Heavenly French vegan pastry! - Edit
We had been looking all over the place for French vegan pastry. This was perfection. Never had Cassonade before - so good. But the orange-rum cake was something else. Absolutely loved it!

Only vegan canelés in the whole city - Edit
Cassonade is the only place in the whole city where you can get vegan canelés (outside of a vegan restaurant), which makes it a must go for any vegan tourist. The vegan canelés taste great and Cassonade also offers a variety of other vegetarian and vegan pastries. Don’t go too late in the day though or they might already be sold out.

Vegan Caneles and other treats on offer - Edit
After reading that Caneles are a speciality of Bordeaux and that there was a vegan option available, I knew I had to seek it out.
Read moreThe canele I had was “moyen” medium sized and crispy and flavourful on the outside, with a soft, light apple flavoured centre. Server was helpful and friendly and pointed out other vegan baked goods available when he realised we ordered only vegan things.

Vegan Cannelle - Edit
I think this is the only vegan cannelle in Bordeaux, so if you’re vegan and want to try it it’s a must stop.

Seems like limited options with only two choices, but so worth a quick visit if only for the cannellés! They also sell various vegan hot and cold drinks. €1.10 per cannellé

Amazing to be able to try a local specialty - Edit
The vegan cannelé were delicious! I had never tried them before but I enjoyed them a lot. Shared with non-vegans who said they tasted exactly as the non-vegan version. Also bought beautiful gift boxes from here to give some as gifts. Tried the 'St James' pastry too which was delicous. Thoroughly recommended!
