Cozy Restaurant in Chattanooga - Edit
I stopped by with my fiancé after white water rafting. We were very impressed with Cashew and all their options! I had the nachos and they were to die for! I’m certainly coming back to try their other items!

peak vegan dining experience - Edit
Every once once in a while you run across a vegan restaurant that knocks it out of the park - quality of food, ambiance, friendly staff, mission-driven. Cashew is one of those places. Situated on the trendy North Shore, it’s tucked into a renovated historical building situation and the restaurant space itself oozes charm. Staff was incredibly sweet and friendly. Took our food a few steps across a lovely park and found a bench by the river to enjoy our meal - waterside. Food was fantastic- especially enjoyed the garlicky kale and chili Mac but everything we got was top notch. They even sell some vegan staple foods in a cooler along with stickers, etc. This place is simply a must-do if you are anywhere near Chattanooga.

So Many Great Options - Edit
After a day white water rafting with my mom, I wanted to give Cashew a try. I'd heard of it before and had been following them on Facebook and Instagram for a while, so I was happy to finally give them a try.
Read moreThe location was nice; close to the river and next to a park with several trees. The building itself was a nice size, clean, and beautiful. This time we only picked up the food and ate elsewhere, but the next time that I stop by I'd like to dine there.
Near the front of the restaurant was a display case with a lot of vegan treats that all looked so good! I had the grilled chick'n wrap with a side of mac and cheese. The wrap was good and the mac & cheese was amazing! For dessert I had a lime and coconut cupcake which I loved! I had also ordered a white chocolate and pecan blondie, but I was so full that I could only take a small bite of it; the rest I gave to my little sister once we got home. That small bite that I took was delicious though!
Besides being a vegan restaurant, they are still even more eco-friendly for a few additional reasons. Their desserts are made with organic ingredients, so they aren't poisoning the planet. Their packaging and utensils are compostable and their bags are made of paper instead of the harmful single-use plastic that most companies use.
I definitely recommend trying Cashew the next time you're in Chatanooga, even if you're not vegan! There are so many options that I can't wait to try, and all of it is cruelty-free!
Pros: Great Food, Lots of Options, Organic Ingredients

The Best - Edit
My favorite vegan restaurant, period. The best item on the menu is usually the daily special. Finish it off with one of their amazing desserts. Never left unsatisfied.

Soooo good! - Edit
I really enjoyed my meal here! I got the Philly cheesesteak, garlicky kale, Mac and cheese, pecan blondie, and lemon poppyseed cupcake. My mom (non vegan) had the nachos and loved it! Everything was amazing! I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

When I went there was paid parking, but there were also free parking spots if you are willing to walk a bit! They're close to the splashpad😄

Decent stop - Edit
Pros:
Read moreCurbside pickup was fast andstaff wore masks
- they have a drive up pickup so you don't have to pay for parking
Take out containers are compostable and plant plastic
Seem to be LGBTQIA friendly (flag near front of building)
Located near the river
Okay variety of food
BBQ Jackfruit
Healthy options
Needs improvement:
BBQ sandwich with garlicky kale: bun was not good, kale was too tough and flavor could be improved
Buffalo Bowl: surprisingly not flavorful, kind of bland, but healthy
Cons:
Parking is paid
A bit pricey for what you get
Overall a decent stop. We'd visit again and try other items on their menu. They had a banner stating they were celebrating 7yrs.

Yum - Edit
Had buffalo bowl (Buffalo-sauced tofu, greens, rice, etc.) & beet burger for takeout — eaten riverside as we were passing thru town on 4 wk road trip. Also had a slice of their cookie dough cake. Solid dinner — cake tasted a bit chemically not sure why. Would definitely order the Buffalo bowl again — and try to recreate at home. (We had just had takeout a few nights prior from Modern Love in Omaha, one of our faves — so the bar was high!)

Delicious but they do cook with oil - Edit
The Happy Cow description says no oil cooking but our chickn salad wraps had oil dripping out of them. They were delicious but way too oily especially if you are Type 2 Diabetic and eat plant based no oil.

Amazingly delicious vegan and gluten free food, many items to choose from, flavored really well. I’ve had the buffalo bowl almost every time I’ve visited Chattanooga and it’s out of this world—flavor, freshness, spice.

AMAZING - Edit
A-FREAKIN-MAZING. I am SO happy a place like this exists in general, let alone Chattanooga. While the rest of my coworkers went to the deli next door, I slipped away for a mini-mouth-vacation. The jackfruit sandwich was KILLER. Nice and smokey and didn’t taste vegan at all. Mac n cheese was so creamy and cheesy too! I’ve been vegetarian for 17 years and vegan for barely 2 weeks and have NO desire to eat cheese again when places like this exist!

Good vegan food, but... - Edit
This is the second time I’ve been to cashew. I always enjoy how cute the restaurant is and the location is nice. My favorite is always the dessert options, especially the donuts. The main courses and appetizers are pretty good too. However, it’s honestly a bit overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area. Their hours are also really weird. They’re not open for dinner during the week which sucks. And we found out today that they no longer take American Express. For all these reasons we probably will go somewhere else next time we’re in town, and just stop in to Cashew just to grab a couple donuts or other dessert.

Found Cashew on Happy Cow and we were not disappointed. The Philly Steak sandwich was good and full of seitan. My wife had a burger she said tasted just like meat. We may go back before we leave Chattanooga.

Stopped in Chattanooga on a road trip specifically because the reviews of Cashew were so positive. Glad we did! Had the buffalo bowl with tofu, rice, kidney beans, kale and sweet potato. Super yummy and more than I could eat. Also had the meatball sub with Mac and cheese. My lunch date wasn’t crazy about the meatballs but I liked them. There were yummy-looking cupcakes and other desserts but we did not get that far.
