One of the best pastas of my life - Edit
Very good service, very friendly and accommodating for vegans.
Read moreFive mains as vegan options in the daily menu, two or three other ones on the regular menu.
We had a pizza which was very good and we had a “Chris pasta” which was outstanding. Probably on of the best pasta dishes of my life. Absolutely recommended.
Good recommendations for wine as well. Usually there’s also vegan desert.
Pros: Attention to detail, Service , Taste

Perfect Italian detour on the road to Fortuna - Edit
This was a great find to break up the drive from Tamarindo to Fortuna. We could resist ordering and sharing multiple appetizers and entrees with all the vegan choices. Everything was very authentic Italian with fresh basil and homemade marinara.

The best Italian food for miles! - Edit
We live locally and are weekly visitors to Casa Italia. The food is incredible! Our favorites are the pizza (the best in Costa Rica, in my opinion), the Chris Pasta, and the parmigiana. Christian and Fernanda are committed to providing delicious, fresh vegan options that will not disappoint.

Amazing food! - Edit
Beautiful place which we were lucky to find as it's a little hidden away. The owner is originally from Sicily, which was reflected by the delicious italian food. I had the vegan lasagna, and its probably the best I've ever had. And my boyfriend had the spinach rolls (not vegan) and said it was some of the best pasta he's ever had. Overall there's a good selection of different vegan options. And we really enjoyed chatting with the owner and seeing the kitchen and the wood oven. Highly recommended!

so impressed - Edit
Not only was there a full vegan menu but the owner, chris came to our table and explained all the things on the menu. He was so kind and accommodating he made me a specialized plate combining a few things from the menu. The best Italian food I’ve ever had too!

Lovely and Unexpected - Edit
Though we were hungry, we were not excited to eat Italian, but let me tell you: this place serves up some tasty food.
Read moreThere were four meals available on the vegan menu (a chalkboard): eggplant parmigiana, pizza, polenta, and pasta. (An asparagus ravioli sounded yummy but was out.) We ordered the pizza and the parmigiana.
The parmigiana, which had a kind of tofu ricotta, was freshly baked and had a delicious red sauce. There was far more oil than I'd usually use or want in a dish, but the yumminess could not be denied. This dish came with (I believe) homemade kalamata-rosemary bread.
The pizza's crust was perfect, and it did not become soggy, as sometimes happens when only marinara and vegetables are on a pizza. I think this was because it was cooked in a wood-fired oven. One of the veggies was broccolini, which worked very well on the pizza.
For drinks, we had the pineapple and basil juice, which was blended up and frothy. This was so good that I ordered a second one.
The main worker (the owner) was especially friendly and helpful. We met the cook briefly, too, and she was glad we liked our meals so much.
The environment was lovely and unexpected.
It was rather spendy—maybe $35-$40. Worth it.

Ottima cucina - Edit
Tutto molto buono e prezzi ragionevoli. 100% raccomandato.
