Beautiful Spot! - Edit
My husband and I had a quick lunch here. The kitchen was closed but they did have a few options for a quick lunch. Vegan Quiche, salad and Vegtable Soup. The quiche was ok, not bad, not great. My husband enjoyed the vegtable soup. It is i. The Jardim Duque da Terceria, beautiful spot. It was a hard to find. It is at the back of the garden up the stairs.

Affordable menu and great location! - Edit
We had the daily menu which included a vegan soup and vegan quiche and then some pastry that I had the feeling it was not vegan even if we specified that we wanted vegan food.

Incredible food in an incredible location. It can be tough to find good plant based food in Terceira, but the many options of soups, entrees, and desserts was a welcome change of pace.

Maps did not lead to the location for me. It is INSIDE THE GARDENS, which maps can find tricky.

Bellissimo locale all’interno di un giardino molto curato. Personale gentilissimo ad adeguare i piatti in base alle nostre esigenze gluten free. Pietanze semplici ma molto buone. Super consigliato!

Down-to-earth food in a lovely location - Edit
They include 2 dishes with tuna as part of the "vegetarian" menu. Mind that and ask the staff about the vegan options available - I was rest assured that there's always vegan options and, no matter what's on the printed menu, they also have a great value for money dish of the day: soup main dish juice dessert coffee for 10 euros. All fresh and organic, and the surroundings are great. I only had a quick snack (pictured here) - a tasty peas pie with a simple side salad. I'd say this is a very good option for lunch in Angra!

Wholesome vegan food - Edit
Great location in the middle of the garden and mostly veggie/vegan food (they also have some fish dishes & include these under vegetarian too). They have rice & soy milk for drinks. Got a curry dish and a deal of the day- very good value (included soup, main, dessert & coffee). Just one vegan cake option (cashew & orange?) The service was good and helpful indicating what was vegan/could be veganised (no mention of vegan options on menus etc). The food was a bit bland & the meal a bit of a random assortment but much better than what a lot of cafes/restaurants on the island.

Wonderfully located vegetarian/vegan lunch place - Edit
The perfect option for those looking for a nutritious, well-balanced and tasty vegetarian or vegan dish. The ambience, in the middle of the park, is really cosy and the staff was very friendly. I had a bean soup and the dish of the day (roasted pumpkin with couscous), which I thoroughly enjoyed. They also serve some deserts, but I did not try those (yet!). Highly recommend this place!

O restaurante está muito bem localizado. Pena que não aproveitem esse potencial.

Pros: Localização e espaço envolvente, Algumas opções vegan
Cons: Poucas opções vegan, Atendimento demorado, Comida com falta de sabor

Probably the best vegan food on Terceira! - Edit
We were unfortunate on our first visit since we arrived at 3:10 and the kitchen closes at 3:00, we then had a very nice quiche and a so-and-so soup. The next day we planned our visit and got to try the amazing Seitan Stroganoff and the dish of the day with bulgur, beans and onion and different vegetables - also very nice! The portions weren’t big enough to be completely satisfying but it gave space for coconut-rice-pudding for dessert - yum! Vegans - come here and try out the rest of their vegan menu!

Nice garden restaurant - Edit
This place offers different daily specials on a regular basis. They have a good selection of vegan and vegetarian meals, including cakes and puddings.
Read moreWe ate here twice, for lunch (it closes at 19, or 17:30 in winter). Our mains were ok (not bad, not great), but the cakes and pudding were delicious! The best one was a passion fruit rice flour pudding. It was so creamy, I swear the owner must have put some coconut cream in it (but she hadn't).
Everything they serve is organic. The manager can come off as a little stern, but if you break the ice, she's a nice lady.
Pros: Lovely desserts & sweet treats, Loads of options
Cons: Taste of meals varies

Not fully vegetarian! And not great - Edit
This place serves fish/tuna. It is not easy to find, but the setting is beautiful. The food is pretty tasteless and cobbles together random ingredients which don't really work together. Half of the items were not available. The food seems quite healthy though the serving staff are a bit surly. It is hard to find good veg options on Terceira but we were pleasantly surprised by Cais de Angra where we ate more than once - see my review on this place.

Great place! - Edit
I visited Casa do Jardim in the summer of 2016.
Read moreAs someone who grew up in Terceira Island, I was very happy to see this place finally pop up in such a meat-based culture.
The food was creative and delicious (I was vegetarian at a time, but I believe my plate was all vegan), with very nice people and a great environment -- it is located in the the main botanical garden of the city.
The price was reasonable, considering the food/ingredients had great quality (I think they were all organic?).
Loved it.
