Non-veg
Serves meat, vegan options available. Small restaurant serving only one dish: "Jalsico-style" pozole. Makes separate vegetarian and vegan varieties. Served traditionally with sides of radish, onions, oregano, chili, and cabbage for garnish. Chef/owner happy to make customized pozoles including local mushrooms and other vegetables. Space also used for women's rights and Zapatista subjects. Close to both Cerillo and Santo Domingo churches. Reported closed, October 2018.

The restaurant at this location (see picture) is closed for good. I went to the other location mentioned in the previous review and I have spoken with the owner: they haven’t moved, it’s another restaurant with the same name. They also have a vegetarian Pozole but the whole place/menu looks a bit veg-unfriendly. Haven’t eat there.

Solid local spot, not very vegetarian - Edit
This has moved to one block to Miguel Hidalgo, a block south of the main square between the expensive touristy restaurants with patios. It's a tiny local restaurant that specializes in Pozole, a pre-Colombian dish of maize and meat (even pork rinds), with a basket of spices and radish & onion sides.

Diamond in the rough - Edit
I was so glad to find this place... just happened to be walking and saw the "vegetarian" part of their sign prominently displayed. It's run by an owner/chef with a lot of personality. Unfortunately it's tucked away and not very easy to run across; go and support it! She makes a wicked all-veg (vegan or not) pozole with fresh ingredients and traditional accompaniments.

Pros: Scrumptious, Friendly, Cheap
Cons: Hard to find, Limited selection, Not always open
