pleasant 🐛 (dinner + hotel breakfast review) - Edit
we were a bit worried arriving at the beach of odeceixe for our accommodation due to the lack of stores around, but luckily for us we were able to have dinner at the restaurant of our hotel! the menu isn't super clearly marked, as none of the appetizers were specified as being vegan, such as the soup. but sometimes you just have to ask:)
Read morewe ordered the burger, which was a patty with rice, salad, and fries. they have ketchup available in tiny packages and vinegar on the table as well, to add some flavour to the veggies. we were super satisfied with the portion, and were reminded of home with that classic beyond-beef taste:))
they also have a wine menu that specifies what wines are vegan. they had fruit available for dessert, which was the only vegan option. but luckily we brought chocolate with us, which any well-prepared vegan does. the views are great, too! however, note that there is a live lobster tank inside which was difficult to see.
tomorrow we are eating breakfast there (included in the hotel price) - i'll try and update it accordingly.
UPDATE: breakfast was alright. they bring out a tray of food to guests when they sit down. so it's important to specify vegan at the bar (in addition to when you booked it) so that they don't bring you non-vegan food. it was a portion of fruit, jams, avocado, and toast. they serve it with fresh orange juice and have soy milk available as well.

I stayed at the guesthouse while hiking on the Fishermen's Trail and was prepared that I could only have some side dishes here - but meanwhile they also have a "vegan burger". It isn't really a burger, just a patty without the bun, and it comes with rice, fries, salad and overcooked veg. It's not a revelation, but it is great to see that they cater for vegans at all, because basically it is a seafood restaurant. As there aren't other options in the evening, it is great to have this option. And they even have vegan wine!

Nice option near the beach - Edit
The place is really nice mostly because of the staff. There isn't a main vegan option because the curry they have in the menu has a bit of butter in the recipe. If u don't mind that, then there is one option. I liked the fact that the waiter mentioned it because sometimes they don't even know What's in the vegan dishes.
Read moreNevertheless, there were a few starters that were vegan, such as padron peppers, mushrooms with garlic and favas with garlic. I combined them with some rice and salad and it worked nice for me so overall it was a good experience!
