Cute cafe with a lovely garden

We only had black iced coffee, juice of the day and a beer. All were good and reasonably priced. It's definitely not a vegetarian place nor particularly veggie friendly. They do have a few vegetarian options on the menu but nothing is marked vegan. The fruit bowl is obviously vegan and some of the veggie stuff can probably be adjusted. Beware their bread isn't vegan as it contains milk. Lovely garden and staff. Would recommend the studio at Iguana Azul, the co-owned accommodation next door.

Not a vegetarian place

Unfortunately, they are quite proud of their bread with milk and not likely to change the recipe to make half of the menu veganizable. So limited options on the actual menu. We had fruit and iced coffee and enjoyed it in the lovely garden setting. On a different occasion we tried the Chana Masala without yoghurt (comes with a lot of rice) and the tamal with vegetables instead of bread (had to order two portions to be satisfied). The food is tasty, but it does take a bit of convincing to combine the plate to make it vegan.

Not vegan but they do not claim they are

The place does not claim that they are vegan. The have a couple vegetarian and vegan choices. We didn't stay at the hostel but we went there to have some fruits and yoghurt. Our plate was quite big and nothing compared to the sad picture that was uploaded in other posts. We had plenty of fresh fruits and homemade sugar free yoghurt that tastes really good. I had the feeling the owner and the people in the service are really nice. I can only give 3 stars because we hadn't had a proper dish but I assume it would be quite good. We tasted the homemade bread and it was for central america quite good. The restaurant advertises that they use locally products etc. (See picture menue).

This may sound confusing for other users, they only have regular yogurt and the bread is not vegan

I don't understand why it sounds confusing? I said they are not vegan and I am not vegan. Happy Cow is also a place for vegetarian and there they have a lot of options. Additionally, what is important for me that they try to use local/good products. For vegans you can have the oats with plenty of fruits(I wanted to show how big the fruit plate is), curry (without yoghurt) and also ask for the pasta (I did not ask but most of the listed ingredientes are vegan and I am quite sure that you can change the sauce if it is not vegan because different to previous posts I had the feeling the owner and the staff are really nice and they want to help you with your wants and needs).

Not really vegan-friendly

When we arrived in the hostel the owner who's american said there are some vegan options for the breakfast, but next morning it turns out that he doesn't know the difference between vegan and vegetarian, so in the end we could only have a small plate with melon, hummus and tortillas (instead of the bread). It was tasty, but if we knew that before we would go somewhere else.

Pros: Garden, view, Friendly stuff, Very clean

Cons: Almost no vegan options , Bit expensive in comparison

Meh, but apparently best option in Copán

Nice place, just not for vegans. This Café belongs to a BnB and Hostel. I don't really know, why this place shows up on Happy Cow as I think there is not one vegan dish on the menu. The staff also doesn't seem to know the term "vegan". I had the Curry without yogurt which was good and probably vegan. The bread that comes with almost every meal is not vegan. They can prepare oatmeal with water or you can hand them plant milk but I did not ask if the oatmeal base is vegan. The owner of the BnB and Hostel is American, so maybe ask him for the vegan options :)

Pros: Extremely cute place, High quality

Cons: Vegan options?, Not the cheapest
