Surprisingly good, but very limited vegan menu

After a bad experience dining at Food for Thought, our hopes for good food in the area were low.

Although only providing a hummus wrap or plate, I was very pleasantly surprised to find fresh, well prepared veggies on the hummus plate. Even the pita bread was fresh and the hummus thick & tasty.

Pros: fresh, well presented ingredients, reasonably priced, convenient while sightseeng

Cons: limited menu

Great place!

I was so pleased to find the word "Vegan!" On the menu board. I got the hummus plate with veggies and pita, and it was delicious. The hummus was house made, which is really the only way I like it. The carrot and cucumber slices were fresh, and the pita points were warm and yummy. There's really nowhere else in Jamestown for food, so it's great to find the Carrot Tree when you're hungry. Prices are reasonable as well, which was unexpected. Staff are lovely too. Oh, and there's a patio overlooking the river, so quite enjoyable.

Pros: location , fresh, friendly

Cons: none

A great option while visiting Jamestowne

I was so pleasantly surprised to find this place with lots of vegetarian and vegan options right on site at historic Jamestowne. Everything is made off-site so you can't get one of the wraps that contain cheese made without it. But, they do have a terrific hummus plate and an onion wrap with hummus. When I was there they also had a yummy gaspacho. The prices are also very reasonable for an on-site concession.

Pros: good food, good value, vegan options

Cons: not made on site, can't request substitutions
