Could be better - Edit

There are two cargos. The main one, and a second smaller branch in Mikonkatu. I only went once to the main one for breakfast. The breakfast plate was 15€, and was small for its price. It had a half avocado, three thin slices of tofu, a toast with hummus, and a salad leaf. Then on the side was a oat yoghurt with nuts and blueberries, a smoothie, and a coffee. In terms of food combining it's not great, a lot of liquid with big smoothie and coffee and yoghurt, mixed with solid foods (tofu, bread, avocado, hummus). Also sugar, caffeine, and non-sweet foods don't usually go well together. I would have happily gone without the coffee and yoghurt for example. It really depends on what the client wants, but there should be the possibility to choose. 15€ was too much for what it was, although there were many different things included, I was hungry again only two hours later. I would have prefered more GF toasts, more hummus, more salad leaves, more tofu, and perhaps some other dips. I believe their à-la-carte is very good though. The Mikonkatu branch offers salads and non-GF sandwiches and wraps along with smoothies. A salad is 11€, but I think 10€ would be a fairer price. And it's very hard to eat it in take-away because the salad isn't already mixed, it's layered, and it's impossible to mix it without the salad falling out, as the container is cylindrical. So it's best to eat on the spot or at home on a normal plate, unless you wanna eat your salad layered. Their sandwiches are good, but I wish they were gluten-free.

Pros: More options in main cargo than Mikonkatu branch.

Cons: On the pricy side.

super convenient in the evening - Edit

It was great to find this place using HappyCow late in the evening after a concert and feeling hungry. Staff was super friendly and the food was great although there were not so many options to choose from. I had a seat on the outside on top of the "cargo container" and although there is a busy road nearby I found the atmosphere OK with a view to the harbour and small parklike area.

Pros: opening hours, friendly staff, good food

Cons: traffic, slightly expensive to my taste

getting better all the time - Edit

Cargo now has almost all the items on the menu either vegan or veganizeable. Vegan burger with sides was good, as was the risotto. Breakfast was probably the best I've had in any restaurant. They use a lot of herbs and local plants in the meals, which to me is a big bonus - so many untasted flavours in the world (and Finland)! Staff is cheerful and easy to talk to. Highly recommended!

Pros: + lots of tasty vegan options, whether it's breakf, + nice staff

Cons: + maybe few of the meals are a bit on the expensiv

nice and quiet - Edit

Every day there are two soups for lunch. One with animal products and one is marked with a 'v' standing for vegetarian or vegan. Just ask to make sure. Breakfast is also available for vegans though I didn't try it. The cafe is very quiet and the staff was friendly. The food was delicious and costs around 9€.

Pros: quiet, reasonable price, friendly staff

Cons:
