One of the originals

I make a point of visiting CoD with my vegan bestie whenever I get back to the city. Most times the food is phenomenal, but there are occasional disappointments. Yesterday I had the breakfast burrito at brunch, and it was sublime. I had berry pancakes too, but found them dry even after maple syruping them.

My main reason for four instead of five stars is the price. We paid $16 for a plate of pancakes a la carte. I wanted to try the mango lassi, but couldn’t bring myself to pay the $12 menu price. I don’t begin to know what NYC restaurants have been going through during the pandemic, and I do know they’re paying higher prices for everything now; but I know I can’t afford meals like this one more than every now and then.

Love it

About 15 years ago I went raw for the summer. Caravan of Dreams was a perfect find for that time with their delightful desserts. I have ventured back recently too and have tried a few different items - always great. I tend to eat in New York alone and before a crowd like for a late lunch/early dinner. I never have any lines or waiting.

Bad evening!

The menu looks great and the place has a nice friendly ambiance. I'm not sure if it was a bad day in the kitchen but the food was really underwhelming and expensive.

Three of us had the $20 ramen which had about 3 spaghetti noodles in it in total? Small portions and not enough ingredients. The service was really slow, we waited almost an hour for our food.
The cocktails weren't very good either.

Overall disappointed, we expected more as the reviews looked positive.

Not good

Service was slow but they had only one person working, so that is understandable while annoying.

Food was just not good. No flavor to the dishes that we paid a decent clip for.

Pretty tasty!

Nothing crazy, but I was a big fan of the potato jalapeƱo omelette. My mom likes the ceasar salad. She ordered a vodka soda and they charged her the same price as my blueberry mojito, which seems like too much. Mojito was tasty, but I’ve had better

Super yummy

Super yummy vegan restaurant - I could die for the apple ravioli. Relaxed, funky atmosphere with live music some evenings. They have a nice selection of raw dishes and juices too

Pure organic food

Amazing food so rich in nutrients that made me feel high. There are not many places left where you can eat creative raw food. I also love their terrace and their live music. It’s a friendly place where people talk to each other and nobody push you to pay.

Pros: Large menu with a variety of creative food, Raw, microbiotic, cooked, gluten free, All organic, guilt free desserts, great soups

Cons: 30 years old funky restaurant

Probably the worst restaurant I’ve been to in NYC.

The food was bad, flavorless and not interesting.
The service was the worst, and we were blamed for not liking the food.

Pros: None

Cons: Bad service , Food is flavorless

Healthy/Hippie Combo

Perfect blend of healthy and hippie without being a try hard spot. Food & service is always fantastic and the vibe is really cozy. I’ve even taken reluctant omnis there and by the end of the meal they’d fallen in love with the place too

Charming vegan restaurant

Went here after a show and was met by a friendly staff and good food in this charming eclectic restaurant. Not your typical vegan fare which makes it nice and different.

Diverse menu. A lot of the places I’ve been to lately have a lot of mock meat dishes but this is the real deal, whole food plant based menu which is great for me. The juices, smoothies, and tonics like the ones available here are a rare find and I feel lucky to have found this place!

Pros: Tasty veggies, Raw options, Many non alcoholic drink options

Cons: Just a tad pricey

Super hip

My whole experience of food was amazing.
First time I had so many raw options. There was nothing that we ordered (which was a lot) that wasn’t delicious. Looking forward to many more trips back there!

Pros: All vegan options, Lots of gluten free options

Cons: Some meals seem overpriced

Excellent quality food

This place is legit. The food is well executed with an attention to being health focused. Great menu, delicious and excellent quality. The prices are decent, too for what you get. The ambience is great, too: funky, artistic and live music at night.

Pros: Organic , Healthy

Loved this place!

Amazing food and great friendly service
The menu had a vast variety and it was all vegan

They gave us a complimentary salad for a starter, which tasted really nice.

The portion sizes were very generous so we had enough to take back home with us

All of the deserts were gluten free and there were many gluten free options on the main menu.

We loved it here and will be coming back again soon!

Yum!

This was a nice treat for brunch. Had the polenta and veg with greens, a side of toast, coffee, and the virgin sangria. It was filling, tasty, and I didn’t feel overstuffed. My partner had the jalapeƱo omelette. It was 100% vegan and so flavorful.

Pros: Tasty food with plenty of veg, Not too complicated or precious , Bohemian ambiance

Cons: Coffee is a little on the weak side

Classic NYC vegan institution

Love the chorizo quesadillas and desserts. Much of the menu is just ok though, not spectacular. I come here if I’m in the area, but don’t make special trips for it.

Pros: Lots of seating, Extensive menu

Cons: Expensive , Not wow inducing

Delicious Dreams!

A Bohemian-style restaurant offering vegan, raw vegan, kosher and organic food options!

Food****
The HUITLACOCHE AND CHORIZO QUESADILLA is soooo good!! The first time we really enjoyed a vegan quesadilla because not only is it a QUESADILLA it's very unique--trust! Additionally, we got the Caravan Sampler Tapas, which comes with Raw Almond hummus,House-made herbed Cashew kefir,Arabian hummus, pesto, guacamole, smoked eggplant spread, House-made herbed Almond kefir,Ali-oli. served with raw vegetables--each dipping sauce was a pleasure!! The strawberry monitor is to die for! We rarely drink and bought TWO!

Atmosphere***
A very dark, quiet place! Limited in the seating but if you're lucky you'll get a table for four and the other two people won't show!

Service***
Doesn't come with a smile but the servers are very accommodating and we're able to help us change our order with no problem! If anything we should get two stars for being so picky!

Price $$
About $20 per entree, drinks $10, so not the cheapest but this is NYC!

Pros: Variety of cuisines, Atmosphere, Location

Cons: Presentation could be better

An east village staple

This restaurant has at all. Great vibes, great location in the heart of EV, all vegan and truly organic menu (I worked there and have seen the orders), great smoothies and the list goes on. If you’re looking for the new trendy upscale celebrity chef restaurants, this isn’t your place. It’s very east village, and if you can appreciate it’s eccentricity it will be one of your favorite Nyc experiences.

Pros: Really organic, Good EV ambiance, Good portions
