Vegans Beware - Edit
They recently started offering vegan cheese as an option on their menu. I was ecstatic at first, until I tried out the Mediterranean pizza which I had years early when I was vegetarian (and not vegan). This pizza contains both mozzarella and feta cheeses. I figured it was unlikely they would have vegan feta cheese, so assumed I would only be getting vegan mozzarella which I was completely fine with. The upcharge was $7 which seemed kind of pricey for a $20 pizza (which now came up to $30 with tax) but I was still delighted that they even offered it as an option as there are basically no vegan restaurants in that area. My happiness lasted until I tasted it and realized they did not omit the dairy feta cheese. All they did was sub out the mozzarella cheese for vegan mozzarella and left on the real dairy feta. I was shocked. I did not realize it at first as it was underneath the vegan mozzarella cheese and I was at my friends house at a party. Then, I started to not feel right and looked closer at it. I talked to a manager and confirmed that only the mozzarella is vegan. They did not offer to remake the pizza and just recommended to specify "no feta" when ordering in the future. How can you put dairy cheese on a pizza when someone orders vegan cheese?!? This doesn't even make sense. I truly hope they remedy this as I did like this place and was excited they started to offer vegan cheese but someone really needs to fix this on the menu and they should have offered to remake my pizza for free.
Read moreUpdate... As of 12/29/23, Cappo's made a notation on their ordering system and website to notate that only the Mozzarella is vegan. Thank you!! Got one today and most of it is gone because it wound up in my stomach before I had the chance to take a picture. Absolutely perfect! I added an extra star for the fact they are trying to accommodate vegans.
