Unlike other reviews we didn’t find it too salty, although we were braced and avoided the option those people had. An Aug bank holiday Sat and it was quiet at 5pm- we had booked a table but need not have worried. Delicious food, we ate it all - platter for 2 a good size. Would come again. In the toilet there were about 4 containers of soap, 1 of these was Astonish (vegan). They seem to do a good trade in take aways otherwise we were the only people eating in.

A lovely meal at Cape to Cairo. Vegan items clearly labelled and plentiful. And delicious! Staff friendly and interested in vegans, really made us feel welcome. Well worth going out of your way for.

Our new favourite local hideaway - Edit
We popped in spontaneously as a celebration dinner with our 7 year old in tow. They were very welcoming and chatty, gave us advice around vegans preferences on the menu and even adapted their Malay curry to have tofu in it at my request, as I really fancied tofu! We absolutely loved both vegan dishes, but that Malay curry sauce is definitely next level! My picky eater child also loved his wrap and demanded we eat there every night from now on. Dessert was a beautiful peach crumble with custard - the custard was very yellow, but all tasted amazing. I had to be rolled back to the car!

Lovely atmosphere, great food - Edit
We tried this for the first time today after seeing great reviews on Facebook and were not disappointed. The service and service time was fantastic, the food came out piping hot and was full of flavour, the kids portions are massive too which was great. Will definitely be back!

Me and a friend called in here on the way home after a long day of physical exercise, we were tired and hungry and this place came up as we were passing, they have a few options for vegans - which is good, but I would avoid the jerk dishes, I got the jerk aubergine and mushroom which just tasted of oil, thyme and salt, salt being the most dominant ingredient, it was on another level - it was almost like a tub of salt had fell into the dish, my friend got the vegan style chicken and that was the same. We both felt dehydrated and only finished the meals because of hunger. The jollof rice tasted a bit like it had come out of a packet and didn’t have much flavour. The coffees we ordered had curdled soya milk in them, thankfully they were removed from the bill as we couldn’t enjoy them, we were also too dehydrated from the meal to drink the coffee. I informed the guy serving us that barista plant milk is best for coffee. Staff are nice enough.

Delicious, authentic vegan food….. - Edit
Second visit tonight, lovely welcome from the staff, lots of vegan options, food was so tasty, full of flavours and so fresh! Good portion sizes and good value for money, it’s a fabulous meal and an experience in one with the African artefacts around the venue and African music playing in the background. Still lots to try on the menu we will be back!

Had a wonderful lunch here today, really delicious & couldn’t fault the food. Staff were friendly & helpful too. Let down by not being fully vegan (loads of options though) & being a bit shabby (I get the style & that’s great) but there was a messy area just near where we were sitting. Wouldn’t take much to resolve & would be great then.

The food was plentiful and tasty. Lots of choices on all parts of the menu. The tofu was really good - can have it marinated in one of 6 different flavours from mild to super spicy.
Lots of vegan friendly desserts too
It’s BYOB so great if you’re a non drinker or if you do like a drink take whatever you like
Definitely worth the trip
