We couldn't believe how many vegan options they had, it was amazing! We got to sample so many sweets and bought quite a few, they were all delicious! The staff was very friendly and was able to answer all our questions. Everything is labelled as well so it is really easy to find your way around. Too bad their self-made waffles are not vegan but everything else was great!

Husband person and I stumbled upon this gem last week while visiting Amsterdam. Was searching for a veg restaurant (with no internet) and happened to see this place. They had a vegan sticker on the outside window so we had to check it out. The dude working there was sooo nice and gave us some nom vegan candies to try out. Don't have any pictures but ended up getting gummy bears, chocolate covered peanuts, chocolate covered ginger (which was recommended and did not disappoint) and chocolate covered coconut (sooo nom). Oh and the guy that was working gave some hella nom vegan food recommendations!

Great that there’s some vegan pick and mix but we found that a lot of the offerings were very similar and it’s pretty expensive too. Vegan chocolate covered nuts were nice as were gummy sweets but the cola bottles were my favourite!

All the vegan candy I got was perfect. People aren’t kidding about the staff. As soon as I walked in, the staff member asked me what I was looking for and shoved (kindly) 5 kinds of the vegan candies in my hand, told me which ones had carrageenan in them. I got a bunch of different gummies and they were all so good. He also gave me vegan dinner recommendations.

Absolutely fantastic, walking in you get showered with vegan candy samples, shopkeeper was knowledgeable about ingredients and very charismatic, everything was clearly labeled. Candy was great, absolutely had to buy some. Others reviewers complain about price, but what do you expect from a pay per weight candy store in Amsterdam? The shop also has some fun candy sculptures and lewd candies, but the lewd stuff does not come in vegan form yet.

Great place (near the Dam) in Amsterdam to get your Sugar rush ;) Altough the staff would like to be vegan only candy shop, they can’t at the moment. They have some regular candy as well so they can maintain themselves. Really friendly staff, always possibility to have a sample. They have jelly candies and candy bars as well. The collection changes sometimes. They have some candy that is vegan and refined sugar free, but the staff is always open for suggestions about vegan candy without refined sugar (that tastes great).

Read moreWhen we entered, there was a handsome guy already greeting us and giving us candy to try out. While we were eating we talked a bit and we found out that he was dating someone from Slovenia (where we're from) and told us some words he knew in our language. We really got into a chat but afterwards he gave us some space so we could pick the candy by ourselves.
The different candy is clearly labeled as vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, gelatine free etc, which is amazing. This way everyone can find something.
The price can get high quite soon, so watch out before putting huge amounts of candy into your bag.
But nevertheless we really loved each kind of candy we picked, so our money was really well spent.
Go check this place out if you're in Amsterdam! :)

The staff at Candy Freaks are insanely helpful and friendly. As you come through the door you'll be showered with free samples and the staff will find you exactly what you're looking for. It's set up like a pick n mix and lots of your childhood favourites that you've not been able to eat for years due to yucky boiled bone gelatine are there as well as lots of delicious chocolate, rock and marshmallows. The one thing to be careful of is that there's different sections for different kinds of sweets; each section has different prices and it's not always clear that there's a difference between them. If you put sweets from different sections into one bag they'll charge you the most expensive price for them all, so watch out!

This store is great as it allows customers to select sweets pick 'n' mix-style from a large range which includes licorice, jelly beans and chocolate covered nuts. All items are labelled as vegan/vegetarian/gluten free, and there are also separate items available such as bags of vegan marshmellows. As an added bonus, staff are very friendly, and there's even international delivery... could be dangerous!

This great candy store is right in the centre of Amsterdam, perfect for picking up a treat when exploring the city. All the candy is labelled for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and a whole host of other dietary requirements. The guy running the shop is so nice and helpful as well, and you can tell he genuinely wants veggies to have the best possible experience in Amsterdam. And when he told me I can order online from Wales it made the experience even better. Now I know where the phrase 'like a kid in a sweet shop' comes from :)
