Mind Body Lab is a holistic health center with a cafe, yoga studio, outdoor gym and more. Open daily to the public. The vegan cafe is set in a quiet and tranquil countryside. Located on Hatherton Canal Junction between Wolverhampton and Cannock - surrounded by water and nature. Brunch offerings may include avocado on sourdough bread toast, mushrooms on sourdough bread toast, breakfast smoothies, Buddha bowl, beetroot pesto pasta, fruit and granola. (Teachers and facilitators hire the venue to offer day retreats and workshops.) Search for "Mind Body Lab" in Google Maps for exact location. If coming via the M6, it is recommended to stay on until Junction 12. Avoid Latherford Lane - This is a single track road full of potholes and not suitable for the average car. Open Mon-Sat 11:00-14:00. Brunch: 11:00 am - 2:00 pm Mon-Sat. Closed Sun. Sometimes closed on Sat due to events at Mind Body Lab. Check website.

Worth going out of the way for! - Edit
I was passing nearby, saw this on Happy Cow, and decided to take a detour. So glad I did! Very friendly and helpful people. I had the scrambled tofu and it was amazing. I would come. Back for that alone! Also had 2 delicious chai lattes. Hope to be back next time I'm passing through.

Fantastic place - Edit
I am a lover of vegan food ánd yoga so whenever there is a yoga place that serves vegan food, I just have to try it. Sadly I was only on a trip so not possible to do some yoga. The food we had was great, we shared some mushroom toast and scrambled tofu toast. Both were great. Staff was really friendly, also local vegan products and business may be promoted, love that extra touch.

What a find! - Edit
UPDATE: Back for the third time! It’s the best vegan breakfast ever, I managed to take a pic this time before I started on it. This is the ‘small’ breakfast! Definitely not small 😊
Read moreThe most beautiful little café on the Canal. We ordered the large breakfast- and was it large!! The first time I’ve ever left food on my plate but I was truly full. The breakfast was cooked and presented beautifully. Staff (owners?) so nice and friendly. This place is a must visit 🙏🌱

Yoga & Dirty Chai - Edit
Wow! I got to visit the infamous Canalside Kitchen for a second time! It lived up to expectations again - the food was huuuuge and so well done (the scrambled tofu was delicious 😋) The dirty chai latte was lush and a joy on such a bitterly cold day. The hosts were such lovely people creating a perfect vibe. Second time I had beetroot pasta (lush!) Would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you. 💚🌱

We shared 2 lovely dishes. A Buddha bowl absolutely bursting with beautiful veggies and fluffy tofu puffs. A huge Full Breakfast with the most delicious garlicky buttery mushrooms, avocado, loads of creamy baked beans, crispy hash browns, 2 x Richmond vegan sausage, avocado, chopped tomatoes & beautiful buttery toasted sourdough.

Wonderful food and lovely staff - Edit
Where do I start! The moment we walked into the cafe we were made to feel welcome. The cafe has a very relaxing atmosphere. We ordered some food and coffee. The coffee was fantastic and you could really tell the difference when comparing to Costa or Starbucks. We ordered scrambled tofu on toast, spicy beans on toast, and tomatoes on toast. As you can see from the photos, the food was presented well and looks lovely. And it tasted even better than it looks. You could tell a lot of care and attention had gone into making the food. I would highly recommend this to anyone passing through regardless of your dietary preferences. Great food and staff, we will definitely be visiting again! Thank you

Canalside Kitchen - Edit
Nice cafe overlooking the canal (over the car park). Staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. I had the scrambled tofu on toast, my companion had the curried beans on toast. The scrambled tofu was spot on, a good sized portion too. My companion didn’t enjoy the beans however, stating that the curry flavour was very strong and overpowered the dish. The menu, in my opinion, could be a little more varied and ambitious, some of the dishes are very easily made at home. Free parking directly outside in the car park. 3.5 ⭐️

Visited today as we spotted Canalside's sign while sailing past yesterday. (There's convenient narrowboat mooring on the Armco opposite the marina and easy access to the cafe over a footbridge.)

As others have said, the scrambled tofu is the best I have ever eaten, bar none- including my own. Unfortunately their technique is a trade secret, but fair enough!

Perfect surprise motorway break! - Edit
An unplanned serendipitous visit - we were travelling on the motorway, felt ready to eat, opened Happy Cow, and this lovely little cafe popped up just ten minutes away. Perfect!
Read moreA simple and healthy menu - it’s always nice to NOT be presented with the ubiquitous vegan burger option. We had avocado on sourdough and mushrooms on sourdough to eat - both just the right portion size and very tasty. And enormous and delicious green smoothies. Everything was delicious, freshly made and reasonably priced - lunch for three of us with four drinks was about £30.
We sat inside, but on a warmer day there are picnic benches by the tranquil canal. Parking is easy and the toilets were clean.
Pros: Healthy and flavoursome food. , The massive smoothies! , Value for money.
Cons: Postcode doesn’t take you there via GPS.
