Beautiful Spot, Tasty Food - Edit
We originally had plans to visit a different restaurant, but it turned out to be closed that day. So, we spontaneously ended up at Camino, which happened to be nearby. We had absolutely no idea what to expect – and the experience was definitely a mixed bag.
Read moreThe menu is available online, and you have to place your order through your phone. While this is modern and convenient for some, it’s not ideal for people without internet access (like my friend). It also wasn’t clearly marked what’s vegan, as many dishes had both vegan and non-vegan versions. You had to manually select the vegan option, which made ordering a bit frustrating – we failed several times. Thankfully, one of the staff members was incredibly kind and accommodating and eventually let us place our order in person.
We made sure to request everything vegan and ended up ordering all the vegan dishes available – which honestly weren’t that many. The food felt like fancy side dishes – lots of vegetables, very light, with minimal carbs. You can order rice as an extra, though. Everything tasted really good and felt fresh, and we did leave feeling full (probably because we had the entire vegan selection).
The coconut dessert was absolutely outstanding – truly one of the highlights of the meal!
That said, I’m not sure if I’d return. My friend, however, really loved the food and the whole experience. The place has a beautiful atmosphere – we sat inside, but most people were outside, and it was very lively. It’s clearly a popular spot, so a reservation is probably a good idea.
In short: tasty food, lovely staff, but not the easiest place for vegans, especially if you’re navigating the menu for the first time.

Gezond en goed eten - Edit
Knapperig en goed gekruid smakelijk veganistisch Vietnamees eten bij Camino. Reserveer een plekje, want Camino is populair.

Interesting menu items, not if you are vegan though - Edit
Visited September 2020.
Read moreLocated in a quiet and peaceful street in Antwerp, most of the seating is outside.
Small menu consisting of tapas-style Asian -influenced dishes with a few main courses. Interesting things on the menu, but sadly not a lot vegan or vegetarian. Only the rice bowl was clearly labelled as vegan on the menu. What was kind of disappointing to me is that most of the tapas were ‘almost vegan’, but then there was one ingredient (e.g. fish sauce or mayo) that made it not plant-based. So i just tried a couple of things like the broccolini without the sauce and had the tofu rice bowl as my main. Nice flavours, but as a vegan person I wouldn’t come back, except if my parents decided to. Maybe if they’ll ever decide to put more vegan options on the menu, we’ll see.
Pros: Situated in a peaceful neighbourhood/street, Enthusiastic servant
Cons: Not so many vegan options, unclearly labelled

Don’t forget to make a reservation! - Edit
Would be great with some more vegan options but it’s always delicious so we keep coming back! The menu doesn’t change much but there are always specials to try. Great natural wine selection too and friendly knowledgeable staff. Would rate 5 but not allowed since they also serve meat

Good asian fusion food - Edit
Even if nothing is clearly labeled as vegan on the menu, waiters know what vegan stand for and are ready to modify dishes to accomodate you.
Read moreWe had the brocolini and the corn (without butter) to share and then the rice bowl with tofu and without egg.
It was very good and tasty, but portions were quite small.
Pros: Good food, Friendly staff
