So good I could cry

If I could give this 5 stars I would but happycow won't allow it. This place has a separate vegan menu and so many options!!!!!! I dream about the cream cheese wontons and don't even get me started on the egg rolls. The sweet & sour tofu was fantastic, the bun chay was amazing, and the stir fry was excellent! If you're in Dinkytown looking for delicious vegan Chinese/Vietnamese food, look no further

Pros: So many vegan options, Vegan cream cheese wontons (need I say more?), Order online easily

Cons: Couldn't find a way to tip online, Only cards not cash at this time

Vegan Egg Rolls!

Seriously great vegan egg rolls - order two ! Trust me.

Wontons are great but definitely doesn't taste like real creamy cream cheese.

My husband loves the general tso's bean curd and I have yet to find my favorite entree - everything is usually too bland for me (though I don't like spice). Their tofu options are always great!

Pros: Large vegan menu, Relatively cheap, Consistently good

Cons: Can be oily

One of my favorites

I love this place. They have a vegan menu within their regular menu which includes cream cheese wontons (this is the only place I've seen those), incredible egg rolls, and the yams in sesame sauce dish is my all time favorite. The owners are very sweet😄

Pros: Separate vegan menu, nice owners

Vegan Cream Cheese Wontons!

The vegan menu here is wonderful! It's a cozy little spot featuring a lot of the owner's art. Very homey, the owners are kind and inviting. Big portions! Could easily share one entree and an appetizer. Loved the orange tofu!

Pros: Separate vegan menu, Owner is a wonderful artist

Very Good Food!

There is an entirely separate vegan menu, and it is AMAZING. General Tsos bean curd? To die for. However I did get Tofu Fried Rice (in the fried rice menu, not the vegan menu) and it had egg. I guess I understand where I went wrong, but who puts egg in tofu fried rice 😭 (you can absolutely order it without egg, though)

orange tofu!

I love going here for their delicious orange tofu. They have a totally separate vegan menu, clearly labeled. The owner is also very kind and attentive. Their food is fresh and yummy and they’re not afraid of spice which I appreciate!

Good flavor, PAINFULLY spicy

I went here with my dad when we were on a college visit. The vegan wontons were great! They had flavor and crisp. I ordered basil eggplant and my dad ordered kung pow mock duck with vegetables. His wasn't too bad wwith spice. I tried it and it was spicy, but not bad. Mine had great flavor, but was PAINFULLY SPICY. I typically enjoy spicyness to a degree, but I literally could not finish it! I'd definitely reccomend this place, but pay attention to the flame symbols and ask before you order!

Vegan Menu

I love that they have a section of their menu that's all vegan! The service was quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. I was most excited about the vegan cream cheese (tofu) wontons, and I enjoyed the Kung Pao Tofu. I asked for it to not be too spicy and it still had a nice kick to it.

Pros: Service, Vegan Menu

Veg friendly Chinese in Dinkytown!

As a vegan, I am always leery about eating out, but this place was a gem! They even had a separate vegan menu! We were greeted warmly by the owner. The place is small and the decor is nothing to write home about, but to find a place that has soups with vegan broths was awesome! My dining companion is gluten-free and was able to eat without worries. The owner seemed to know what that meant, and served different dipping sauces for our shared order of spring rolls and told her that my sauce had soy sauce in it and she should not eat it. She ordered a huge bowl of soup, and I ordered kung pao tofu. She was very pleased with her soup. My kung pao was fine but not spectacular. The spring rolls were the cold kind and were soooo good! They looked to be freshly made when we ordered them. This restaurant offered mock duck and mock pork. Nothing I'm interested in, but others may be. The owner was proud to assure us that they do not use water chestnuts or baby corn or bamboo shoots--only fresh vegetables! I will be going back to this place often!

Pros: Separate vegan menu, Very accommodating owner, Yummy food

Cons: Atmosphere

Love Camdi - totally vegan supportive - YUM!

Camdi is always perfecting its vegan options - has specific vegan-fare menu insert with 'regular' menu. Wonderful offerings and superbly cooked; also rice is in gigantic rice-cooker, fresh and lovely. **Camdi uses SEPARATE WOKS for vegan cooking!!! YAY!** Food is very affordable, service is friendly and thoughtful. Wish I had a car - I live very far from Camdi and have to take a bus via 2 transfers, so I only go there for lunch. HIGHLY recommend all vegan dishes and urge supporting this excellent, family-run business. Vietnamese & Chinese foods all delish!

Pros: Guaranteed vegan woks, Lovely vegan menu, Delicious foodie foods

Cons: Small, can be crowded as is near UofM, Bathroom access via kitchen and stairs, No handicapped access to bathroom

Decent, but room to improve

I really like that Camdi has an all-vegan menu with numerous (and unusual) soups, appetizers and pan-Asian entrees. They also cook all the vegan dishes in separate woks and fryers, which is much appreciated. The service was friendly and prompt. That said, I wasn't amazed by the food. It's much better than your average strip-mall Chinese joint, but not as light, fresh or tasty as Evergreen on Nicollet or Jasmine Deli, also on Nicollet (two of the best Asian restaurants in the Twin Cities). Their tofu vegetable curry was solid, but nothing special and reminded me heavily of Lotus To-Go restaurants and also E Noodle Cafe in Roseville. Their mushroom stir-fry with mock pork was a bit too salty, oily and sticky for my likes; the mock pork, too, had a horrible texture, like fried tofu that has gone soggy and chewy after soaking in water. The vegan cream cheese wontons were definitely good, though, with just the right balance of savory flavor and crispiness. If the quality of the food here improves, I would definitely give it another star. At present, it's a distant third when it comes to Asian food in the Twin Cities.

Pros: Separate, all-vegan menu, Service

Cons: Mediocre food quality on a whole, Overstated salt and oil, Not 100% vegetarian
