Vegan restaurant that serves a large variety of Portuguese and International starters and main dishes. Choices include beetroot tartare, tofu skewers, shiitake mushrooms, house-made gyosas, pad Thai, orzotto, Portuguese dish "carne" a Portuguesa, fermented veggies, kombucha, sourdough bread, house-made butter and cream cheese. Drinks include organic coffee, craft beer, wine, sodas, and teas. Ues locally produced ingredients such as mushrooms, vegetables, and fruits. Frequently changing exhibiton of local artists' paintings. Reported closed October 2023.

We hebben hier heerlijk geluncht. Een aantal van de “summer bites”: gyoza, zalm sandwich en zuurdesem brood met verschillende toppings. We hebben het vegan feest afgesloten met een lekker dessert wat vandaag de mango/kokos mouse was.

It’s nice to find a vegan restaurant at Loulé, but there’s room for improvement. We had a starter (which was really good), two mains and a dessert. We felt that these last three could be better. It’s also overpriced.

Dear Margarida, thank you for your lovely visit and feedback. I have asked you couple of times if everything was to your liking and you finished all the food. It would have been more beneficial for both sides if you told us directly and we could have discussed what do you mean by improvement or what we could do better. With this review you don't really help us to improve/do things better. Regarding the price, the meaning of cheap, expensive or overpriced is different for each of our guests. We have fair prices and I am sure most of our guests can't imagine all the expenses a restaurant has.

Read moreThere were some very tempting choices on the menu, for starter I chose the sourdough with cashew cream cheese, vegan salmon and dill mayo. My wife took the beetroot tartare.
We didn’t have to wait too long before they were served. Both looked delicious and beautifully presented. Neither disappointed, a good portion and soooo tasty 😋.
We’d not hesitate to order those again.
For our mains, I chose the Portuguese, soya chunks marinated with pickle veg and such crispy fried potatoes. The soya had a ‘meaty’ texture with a deep flavour and the potatoes were like they had been triple cooked. Crispy on outside, fluffy on the inside. Again excellent portion size.
My wife had the Italian choice which didn’t photograph very well but was very mushroomy and creamy.
Both of us struggled to finish but we were able to manage a house dessert between us. Forgot to take picture as we were too keen to eat it.
It was a veganised doce da Casa, biscuit, custard and cream dessert. Very light and disappeared quickly.
The service was excellent and the toilets were clean.
Overall we had an excellent meal with a few drinks and we’ll definitely be back as I want to try the pad thai. I’m just disappointed I left it so long.

We arrived there at 12PM and they told us, very rudely, that there was a big group coming soon and we could only order some of the dishes, the cold ones because they didn't have time. The chef/server was very rude and nervous and I would not go back.

When you guys arrived, I (me and the chef are the two owners of the place) went immediately to you and explained the situation that we had a group of 15 people that booked for 12pm last minute (they booked at 11am for 12pm and we are making their meals) and that we are just 2 people and that we can serve you anything of our cold meals (selection of 6 starters and 1 main) or that in 30 min we could start making the hot dishes. You didn't want to understand the situation and me and the chef had to explain you several times all over again, still you insisted on wanting hot dishes in that moment, while other our guests were waiting for me to have their drinks served. You couldn't or didn't want to wait (and we understand that) and you left.
We had other clients at the same time that understood perfectly and ordered from the available dishes and were very happy.
This is the same with any other restaurant or service, when the capacity is full. Once we reach our capacity, we explain the situation to our guests and offer alternatives if available.
We explained you the situation straight away, offered options and didn't let you wait and therefore we think that your review is out of context.
We invite you to come again, ideally book in advance. Try the our food and make a review based on that.

Homemade traditional portuguese vegan food - Edit
I only recently learned about this new place in Loulé and I must say I was very positively impressed with my visit. The place is cosy in and in the center of Loulé and offers a very good selection of veganized portuguese food. I had the Seitan à Brás and it was delicious. So was the homemade kombucha. So far I believe they're only open during lunch but it's the best vegan option right now in Loulé.

We came here for lunch. The food was tasty and lovingly prepared. I had the Seitan a Bras which was so, so good. The others had the different burgers which were delicious too. A good choice of local artisan craft beers too. We will return.

The sourdough toast options are really tasty but the portion sizes are quite small. Ideal for a light lunch but if you’re bringing a big appetite best to look for something heartier on the menu. They also sell pastel de nata but had sold out by the time we got there so would recommend getting there early if you’re hoping to score some natas!
