Full Vegan Menu! - Edit
During a recent journey through deepest Argyll, we stopped off at the Cairnbaan for lunch. I was not expecting much of a choice for vegan food, but was astonished to see a full vegan menu with great choices of starter, main and dessert.
Read moreWe both opted for the onion soup for starter, which came topped with grated and grilled vegan cheese, and was so tasty! For the main, my wife had a vegetable tagine and I had the home-made spicy beanburger. Both of these dishes were delicious, and we didn't have room for any of the choice of 3(!) desserts.
Service was great, and the prices were very reasonable. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Been for a bean-burger - Edit
Its not the best vegan bean burger you’ll ever have (although it is nice), but the fact that there is one, clearly marked on the menu brings joy to my heart. The staff are super friendly and super helpful, so I’d highly recommend dropping in if you’re on the way back from beaver spotting up the road.

Decent vegan options - Edit
We had dinner at the Cairnbaan in July 2021 when we were staying at the Kings Reach Vegan B&B and enjoyed the vegan options, We had told them in advance that we were vegan and when we arrived they were able to list out what our choices were. We shared a bread/olive/houmous selection to start and then enjoyed a burger and a sweet and sour vegetable and rice dish. We didn't ask about desserts as we were pretty full up after our mains,

A lovely place, great staff and imaginative, delicious food - Edit
The Cairnbaan always has a vegan option on the starter and main course (which are always very good) but provided you ring a few days ahead the chef is able to prepare a few options for vegans to choose from. We have visited over 5 times now and each time the staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is really excellent. Imaginative and tasty. The kitchen staff have always been a lemon to provide us with a vegan dessert too (for the days we have had the space for a third course!).
