So much better than I expected!! - Edit

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and finally had an opportunity. I was expecting a good cup of coffee and maybe a vegan scone or doughnut for breakfast but WOW, they had some great vegan breakfast items on the menu. I had the special which was steamed kale, black beans, quinoa and veggies with a chipotle aioli sauce and my husband had the breakfast sausage sammy and both were so absolutely delicious! The owner was there and said she is revamping the menu soon and will be adding even more vegan options so I can't wait to go back!! Oh, and the coffee was great as well, they really know their stuff :)

Pros: Great Food, Yummy Coffee, Friendly Staff

Delicious - Edit

I live in Seattle but was in Tacoma visiting my friend and we found this place. The food was amazing! I had a breakfast sandwich with tofu scramble, tempeh, vegan cheese, and mushroom gravy on sourdough toast. Amazing! They also have wonderful pastries and they serve breakfast all day! I definatly recommend this delicious restaurant!

Pros: Its all delicious!

my favorite tacoma spot - Edit

i love this place so much that yelp thought my review was fake. anywhere that makes hemp milk lattes has my heart. they make a picante mocha (that's choclate spicey coffee, for the newbies) and my favorite is a hempmilk mocha w an orange rind in the bottom. drink this. you won't be sorry.

i have dreams about the sandwiches at night. and they sell flying apron baked goods that are vegan and gluten free. tacoma needs more places like this.

Pros: soy, rice, hemp and dairy milk, EXCELLENT sandwiches, great owners/staff

Cons: i wish this was a chain?

Superb food! - Edit

Caffe Dei serves up delicious vegan and vegetarian meals. A trendy hang out near University of Puget Sound, the place is populated by a nice mix of college students and professional types. The two breakfast sandwiches (one with tempeh, one with vegan 'meat loaf'), with vegan cheese, are the best I've ever had. The barbeque 'meat loaf' sandwich may induce swooning in the all who've wandered too long in the search for splendid, satisfying vegan fare. Add in mavelous coffee drinks and a good-humored, helpful staff and it's a recipe for culinary greatness.

Cute, clean cafe with delicious eats! - Edit

I live in Los Angeles, but visit my family in the NW a few times a year and am always looking for new places to get great vegan food. I discovered Caffe Dei just googling around and decided to make a special trip (from Edgewood) to pick up some Mighty O donuts for myself and my parents. This place is so clean and cute, very simple decor. I told the owner, Shuanna, that I'm vegan and she described the different vegan sandwich options to me. I decided that in addition to the donuts and soy latte I'd ordered, I had to try their vegan sausage breakfast panini (they'll add cheese if you're vegetarian). It was SO PERFECT! A think slice of Yves sausage, creamy, melty homemade sauce and onions on a toasted ciabatta. As a vegan, I know these kinds of things can be hit and miss, so I was pleased to have my expectations more than exceeded. I brought half of the breakfast panini home (trying to save room for the donuts) and let my parents share it. They're both meat-eaters, but both liked it a lot and my dad said he would be inclined to stop in and order it for himself sometime. My brother (also vegan) and I are planning to have lunch there tomorrow because I'm eager to try their other sandwiches.

Finally! Vegan/Vegetarian Food!! - Edit

When i caught wind of a new coffee shop opening up, i was interested, but what really peeked my interest was the offerings of Vegan and Vegetarian options!!

As a Vegetarian, Tacoma has crap to offer, besides Quickee Too, which is too greasy for me, besides the horrible customer service and time frame in which you are helped and served.

So, to sum things up: If youre Vegan or Vegetarian and want a BOMB sandwich or some kick ass coffee beverages, dont look elsewhere.

Caffe Dei is where its at!!

Pros: Vegan, Vegetarian, Awesomeness

Cons: what are cons?
