Beacon Hill Banger - Edit
I love that this place exists + I need y’all to keep it alive. $3.89 tamales in 2024!!
Read moreI split 3 w/my partner for lunch. The nopales is my fave, even tho it kinda fell apart when I plated it for a photo. The mixed veggie tamale was def light on the filling this time, but that’s an anomaly.
They know what vegan means, so ordering is easy. TIL the beans are vegan, but the rice is made w/chicken powder. Bummer.
Pros: cheap, fast, friendly
Cons: the rice isn’t vegan, inconsistent

Excellent tamales! - Edit
They seem to have 4 varieties of vegan tamales at the moment though I think the exact flavors might change with the seasons. I tried the chipotle black bean and nopales tamales and both were excellent. The nopales was my favorite! I will definitely be back to try more of their menu.
Read moreEdit: Came back with friends and tried the mixed veggie tamal as well as the nopales. The nopales is still my favorite, but all the vegan ones are delicious!

😱 that’s horrifying that they didn’t tell me that after asking which tamales were vegan.

Vegetarian and vegan tamales are to die for! - Edit
I especially liked the nopales-filled tamale. The prices are low and the tamales are huge! Next time I’ll have to try the pupusas.
