Vegan scone + hot drinks

A cosy cafe at the top of a flight of stairs. Durham didn't have many vegan choices in my experience so it was nice to be able to find somewhere for a scone coffee to shelter from the cold/rain. The scone was warm and it came with vegan spread and jam. Friendly staff.

Just an average typical British tearoom you’ll find in most British towns. Vegan scones I’ll give you fair play to that plus the usual falafel and avocado on toast options that have been around since Peter Ustinov was chancellor of Durham University. A few drops of plant milk tend to get you listed on Happy Cow these days.

Pros: Cosy setting

Cosy tearoom

The Cafedral is a very cosy tearoom close to the Durham Cathedral. The staff is really nice and friendly and for scone lovers this is like heaven! They bake fresh scones every morning and the raisin scones are vegan. Plantmilk is available and the vegan lunch options include a salad bowl and a falafel wrap.
