great ambience & options

the full vegan menu was a luxury. mixto vegano was delicious with a generous portion size (and leftovers)! great wholesome meal to fill up without feeling greasy or unhealthy. they use Beyond Meat but the seasoning & preparation makes it unique. the restaurant felt cozy and welcoming and staff helped choose wonderful coffee and meal options. definitely worth the trip!

Omg, we were sooooo happy

Such a wonderful vegan menu. Best meal we had while in Chicago. I’d eat here so often if I lived here. No real vegan options where I’m from. I’m not really “vegan,” I’m whole-food plant based and cook almost every day when not traveling. This was so good. My hubby and I were both so very pleased to find this place, thanks to HAPPY COW!!!!!

Pros: Great and knowledgeable staff.

Amazing restaurant with separate vegan menu!

My omnivore family and I went to Cafecito hoping it would be a place everyone could find delicious options. It did not disappoint! Our dinner was fantastic and the price was very reasonable. Authentic and unique, with a cozy, trendy, and fun layout. There’s a cafe in front, but don’t be fooled! There’s ample booth and table seating in the back with a nice bar. Will definitely be back!

Pros: Separate vegan menu ⭐️, Authentic tasting food ⭐️, Great vibe ⭐️

Cuban coffee + vegan eats = heaven

Four locations in Chicago: two in The Loop at Wells & Wabash. South Loop at 26 East Congress Pkwy. Gold Coast (main) location at 215 E. Chestnut. And Lincoln Park at 411 W Fullerton (walk to the North Pond nature sanctuary after for a beautiful stroll).

The Chestnut location is small and narrow with a few booths along the side and some high top tables and a full bar in back.

ASK FOR PAPER MENUS. Scanning QR codes for menus forces tech dependence please make the connection how long term this leads to loss of human rights, privacy and freedom. Always ask for paper menus.

Cuban coffee is awesome here. If you want a latte, soy milk is not on the menu but ask for soy they have it and can do a cuban soy latte.

The maduro and tostone plantains are fabulous!

Awesome vegan items! My favorites:

Vegan Pan con Bistec - it's Beyond meat, onions, tomatoes, shoestring potatoes, lettuce & mojo.

Sabor Impossible - Beyond meat, vegan cheese, spinach, onions, pickles, tomatoes & vegan chipotle aioli.

They have a Vegan Provoletta with vegan cheese, roasted red peppers & chimichurri.

And Mixto Vegano with Beyond meat, white rice, black beans, yucca, parsley, tomatoes & chimichurri. Also they have have amazing specialty salads.
