Yummy vegan menu items - Edit
Cafecito has a separate vegan section of the menu with 10-12 items. My partner and I each had a sandwich and were very happy with our meals. I made it a combo with black bean soup, also yummy.

For as busy as this location must be the food was delicious.

Nice Vegan Options - Edit
As mentioned in other reviews, they offer a Vegan section on their menu many of which are made from Beyond Meat, Beyond Sausage and Just Egg. I was really in the mood for veggies, so I had a Chopped Salad and I asked for mixed greens rather than the iceberg it came with. I also started with the Black Bean soup which was flavorful, but a bit watery as compared to other BB soups I’ve had. The service was great and very attentive. I would return in a heartbeat.

Tons of vegan options! - Edit
Huge vegan selection of Cuban dishes. I had the Vegan Vaca Frita Platillo, and it was both huge and delicious. I can now go back 10 more times and get something different every time!

Great vegan Cuban food - Edit
I've never had Cuban food before. They have a good sized menu of clearly marked vegan breakfast and nonbreakfast items. They use ground beyond meat in many of their items and it tastes great. We also had Just Egg sandwich and avocado toast and those were great too.

Poor service, food ok - Edit
I had the vegan la playa sandwich that was good. But the service is sad and bad. I saw a waitress walking around with a starbucks iced beverage and the guys are zero passionate about what they're doing and not friendly. Won't go again!

Surprisingly outstanding! - Edit
The vegan section on their menu didn’t disappoint. I was afraid I would be getting the smallest piece of avocado toast with just egg on it, but the serving was massive and soo delicious. I don’t know how they could make the coffee taste so good, but they nailed it. The next time I’m in Chicago, I’ll be returning for sure.

Delicious sandwiches - Edit
This place is a bit hidden but you should definitely go there. There are a lot of vegan options and they give free water. You can also do a "combo" which is sandwich soft drink chips. Unfortunately they had only doritos chili and cheese which ofc aren't vegan. I asked the waiter to remove it from my order. The environment is so relaxing.

Omg, we were sooooo happy - Edit
Such a wonderful vegan menu. Best meal we had while in Chicago. I’d eat here so often if I lived here. No real vegan options where I’m from. I’m not really “vegan,” I’m whole-food plant based and cook almost every day when not traveling. This was so good. My hubby and I were both so very pleased to find this place, thanks to HAPPY COW!!!!!

Amazing restaurant with separate vegan menu! - Edit
My omnivore family and I went to Cafecito hoping it would be a place everyone could find delicious options. It did not disappoint! Our dinner was fantastic and the price was very reasonable. Authentic and unique, with a cozy, trendy, and fun layout. There’s a cafe in front, but don’t be fooled! There’s ample booth and table seating in the back with a nice bar. Will definitely be back!

Cuban coffee + vegan eats = heaven - Edit
Four locations in Chicago: two in The Loop at Wells & Wabash. South Loop at 26 East Congress Pkwy. Gold Coast (main) location at 215 E. Chestnut. And Lincoln Park at 411 W Fullerton (walk to the North Pond nature sanctuary after for a beautiful stroll).
Read moreThe Chestnut location is small and narrow with a few booths along the side and some high top tables and a full bar in back.

Cuban coffee is awesome here. If you want a latte, soy milk is not on the menu but ask for soy they have it and can do a cuban soy latte.
The maduro and tostone plantains are fabulous!
Awesome vegan items! My favorites:
Vegan Pan con Bistec - it's Beyond meat, onions, tomatoes, shoestring potatoes, lettuce & mojo.
Sabor Impossible - Beyond meat, vegan cheese, spinach, onions, pickles, tomatoes & vegan chipotle aioli.
They have a Vegan Provoletta with vegan cheese, roasted red peppers & chimichurri.
And Mixto Vegano with Beyond meat, white rice, black beans, yucca, parsley, tomatoes & chimichurri. Also they have have amazing specialty salads.
