very poor cuisine - Edit

Always the same 3 vegan options, cooked without skills nor soul ... A vegan plate with a great amount of green salad, and the most bizarre looking and tasting "quiche", liquidy curry ... The staff seems unconcerned about veganism or animal rights whatsoever !

Not vegan friendly :( - Edit

I've came a few times and appreciated the vegan options and love the dogs (the dogs keep it from being 1 star). However, the service I experienced from staff was apprehensible. I said the word vegan while ordering and even checked which drinks were vegan as well when ordering, but was served a side salad with a nonvegan dressing. After eating a bit I felt it tasted strange and checked with the staff, which at first confirmed it was vegan, but then paused and said he'd double check. Then the staff that originally took my order came back and said it wasn't vegan, but suggested it was my fault for not specifying I wanted it vegan in my order (I clearly remember saying it, and then even went as far as to confirm my drink was vegan) I was shocked I didn't get even an apology and calmy repeated that I ordered my meal as vegan, and the staff repeated that I failed to specify it (where's the apology..??) They relunctantly offered a new side salad and I received no other apology or improved service. I ate with a group of nonveg friends who were also uncomfortable with how the service was handled. I expected so much more from a restaurant which specializes in vegetarian food, it was extremely disappointing to have no sympathy from the staff.

Pros: Vegan options, Dogs!!!!

Cons: Bad service, Limited menu options, Okay food

jaws 02 Jan 2018 - Update: I visited again with some friends, and specifically ordered a vegan dish. They staff asked me if I wanted mayo on top of my bowl. I thought that would mean vegan mayo and said okay initially, but because of my past experiences I thought to call them back and check. It was egg mayo after all, so I'm glad I asked. The food and puppies were great though, just be extra careful if you can't have eggs/milk.

The vegetarian restaurant of choice for students at Waseda - Edit

As a current student at Waseda, I end up going here really often. I'm just a poor student though, so I can't come here as often as I like (lunch prices still hover around 1000 yen), but it's not too bad. For lunch, you usually have a choice from three options, while they have a larger menu for dinner, although some of the dinner options (such as the veggie hamburger) are pretty lackluster. They also have two dogs, which some people find cute, and you can also bring your own dog to the cafe. Personally though, the dogs are always trying to find ways to get a bite of your food if they can, which I find somewhat annoying.

Must LOVE dogs! - Edit

The two doggies run free in the place, fine with me but maybe not for everyone. Menu in English and clearly labeled with vegan options (65% of the menu is vegan). I had the house red wine their small salad (which was huge) and their original pasta dish. Noodles with oil/almonds/other amazingness. Salad was basic veggies but a great size with really great ginger dressing. Super close to the Waseda station on Tozai line, 4 minute walk. Love everything about this place. Adorable, delicious and dinner dates included (puppies). Don't miss if you are in the area.

Pros: vegan options!

Cons: expensive side, but it's Tokyo what do
