A-OK Poke - Edit
The Chips and Salsa Sampler included guacamole, roasted chipotle salsa, and salsa verde. I liked the red salsa, but not the green salsa. The Vegan Poke Salad included avocado, carrot, cucumber, ginger, quinoa, radish, red cabbage, snow peas, spinach, and tofu. Except for the tasty sauce, it was a healthful choice.

So many great choices for healthy vegans. It’s a drive for us and I’m always impressed with the fresh and tasty dishes. Just wish we lived closer. Why don’t other restaurants taste this good?

Almost an entire menu of options! - Edit
Almost the entire menu is vegan and gluten free OR vegan and gluten free optional!
Read moreWe had the chips and salsa sampler and yuca fries for an appetizer. The chips tasted stale, the guacamole was fine, the red salsa was good, the verde salsa didn’t have much of a taste at all. The yuca fries were really good and crispy but the sauce was DELISH!! Like, so good that I scooped the cup with my finger!
I ordered a V/GF poke salad with tofu, subbing mixed greens instead of spinach for the base. It was SO tasty and filling. Again, the house made poke sauce was so good! I had to ask for extra.
My husband ordered the tofu curry. I tried it and it was good but nothing out of this world. I definitely have had better curries before. I almost ordered it but after tasting I was happy with my poke decision. It was definitely filling and he liked all of the veggies in it.
We sat on the covered patio during a rainstorm and it was SO delightful!
Pros: Numerous vegan options! , Numerous GF options , Great outdoor seating area

So good! - Edit
Came here twice on vacation, definitely enjoyed it both times. The first time was when we first came to town after flying in, and I wanted something lighter so I got the 2 vegan tacos with fried tofu and a side salad. Didn’t take a picture, but I enjoyed both. The fried tofu is very good and I felt like their side salad was a step up from most places. My husband got the Bibimbap with added fried tofu to share with my mother and it definitely was enough for 2 people, and they really enjoyed it. The second time we came we got the hummus and tabbouleh (made vegan) as an appetizer, and it was great. For my meal I got the vegan poke salad and lentil soup. Definitely realized quick I didn’t need the soup. It was decent but nothing fabulous. The salad was delicious though, and I throughly enjoyed it. And this is coming from someone who rarely eats salad for my meal. Very flavorful dressing and they load you up with toppings with is so nice. If your looking for atmosphere definitely sit outside, inside if fine, but a little boring. This was also a great place for a mixed dietary party.

Nice Outdoor Eating - Edit
The Vegan Poke Salad with Tofu was straight up BEAUTIFUL with the vibrant colors. I felt that it really nourished my body. My kids had the vegan tacos with fried tofu and they were pretty flavorless. We would suggest marinating the tofu. Guacamole and chips are good. Nice covered outdoorsy patio with lovely mature plants.

Vegan Poke Salad - Edit
Like the other reviews, this place does not disappoint. The Vegan Poke Salad was soo fresh and spot on. The Yuca cores and plantains were equally yummy. Will return for sure.

Always great! - Edit
I have been coming to Cafe Verde for years. The food is always great and plenty of vegan options. My go-to's are the bowl with fried tofu, yuca fries (with creamy vegan mojo!), and the fried plantains, which are some of the best plantains I have had. Perfectly caramelized and not too sweet. Service is always good also and they sometimes have live guitar music in the evening on their lovely outdoor patio. I would rate 5 stars if I could but they have non vegan menu options also. Must try!

Lots of vegan options but staff education hit or miss - Edit
I was excited to find this place while staying in NSB. However on the 2nd visit we were informed that the fried bananas with honey were fried in the same fryer as the yucca fries and therefore not vegan (even though the menu says they are). Now I wouldn't make a huge fuss except when I called to inquire the server had no clue how to help me, nor did management return my call. We happened to get a waiter who was more aware but I was slighly annoyed they weren't up front with this. They also ran out of tofu the 2nd day (couldn't someone make a Publix run?) Which meant many vegan options were no longer availble. It's a popular place and gets crowded so don't expect to be seated right away (and we were there in December!). Food was good and inexpensive and portions were small but enough.

Decent ! - Edit
I had the bibimbap bowl with no egg and added tofu. It was one of the favorites on here menu so I was excitied when I ordered it but it didn’t wow me. It was still pretty tasty but I had to add hot sauce and soy sauce to add more flavor (the only reason I didn’t rate it 4 stars). Then we shared the Bok Choy starter which was very good! They had a lot of other vegan options/items you can make vegan by adding or removing certain ingredients so if I go back I would like to try something else.

Trendy casual table service cafe with many healthy options and a very thoroughly labeled menu. They make it very clear what is GF VEG or Vegan. There is even a label for things that can be made vegan on request. Nice outdoor patio.

Cafe Verde was an unexpected surprise. With a nice selection of veg and vegan offerings I visited with high hopes. I can honestly say this was one of the high points of my time in Florida. This cafe is in a trendy New Smyrna Beach neighborhood and is incredibly welcoming. The staff was knowledgeable and quite friendly, the food was impeccably prepared and plated. I have no complaints at all.
