Amazing vegan options! - Edit
A lot of vegetarian and vegan options which was nice to see on the island. I'd say it's the best place after the two vego restaurants - Benny's and Sunrise. Khao Soi was delicious (but more creamy than traditional Khao Soi in northern Thailand) as was the smoothie bowl for breakfast.

Loved the vegan options here. The staff was always nice. It is a bit pricey here but it's koh lipe - many restaurants are quite pricey. At least here you have vegan options.

My Favourite Eatery on Koh Lipe - Edit
I think during our stay in Koh Lipe my partner and I nearly exhausted the vegan dinner options, and most of the lunch options too! Everything I ate here was absolutely delicious. My favourites were vegan teriyaki noodles and the khao soi. Meals were filling and great value for money. Most dishes can be made vegan, and all are clearly labelled. They also have lots of gluten free options on offer. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Wait times for meals was reasonably quick, especially considering that it was incredibly busy most days. A must try!

The place is very nice and the waiters are kind, they speak good english and are very willing to help. The food was good but not amazing, the vegan burger fell apart but it tasted good. Total for two people was 1600 bats having drinks coffee and dessert. A bit on the expensive side here in thailand but still reasonable.

Delicious western food with Thai influences - Edit
Café tropical is a great restaurant at the cozy walking street in Koh Lipe. The menu is astonishing and it will be difficult to choose your dish. Many vegetarian and vegan options, knowingly you can’t pick wrong because they all will be great.

I went here every day in Koh Lipe. The prices are a little expensive depending on what you order, but the food is really tasty and very clean. They also participate in the Trash Hero initiative which is great. Staff are very friendly😄definitely recommend.

I had general Tso’s cauliflower and my boyfriend had cheese & veggie quesadilla. It was pretty tasty but not amazing. Also pretty pricey but no sure how expensive it is compared to other restaurants on the island. It does have loads of veggie and vegan options though - pretty much everything can be made vegan. Safe option.

One of the places that open during low season here in Koh Lipe. We ate here every day and tried almost everything vegan on the menu, and it was pefect! A little bit expensive compering to other places but totally worth it. The staff are very nice and there is gluten free options too

A lot of choice for vegan and vegetarian and some really original dishes. Its is a bit pricey compare to restaurants in Thailand but portions are huge. The salads were good but nothing special though. Really appreciated to find some fresh vegetarian food in the island.

An Abundance of Plant Based Deliciousness & Environmentally Conscious Practices - Edit
We spent a week on Koh Lipe at the end of March and ate here at least once a day. Much thought appears to have been put into making as many dishes as possible vegan and vegetarian customizable. The breakfast smoothie bowls are insanely delicious and the fact that they are packed with healthy ingredients makes it easy to eat “dessert for breakfast” guilt-free! The ingredients are fresh, the staff is helpful and super friendly, and the flavors are like nothing I’ve found in the US (and I look hard!)
Read moreThere are less expensive options on the island but we opted for many meals at Cafe Tropical for a few reasons: the wide variety of dishes offered made it possible to try something new each day. Also, being new travelers to the area we were aware of selecting restaurants taking into consideration our sensitive Western tummies. We had no concerns here, as we were assured that all of the produce was washed in drinking water and food safety for travelers from all around the world is a main priority. The focus on healthy deliciousness is evident in all the dishes. Too often vegan and vegetarian travelers have to sacrifice one or the other - not here! You get both in abundance. If you feel your gut would benefit from a boost, the Cold Pressed ginger shot is a perfectly spicy, zingy and natural way to get one.
And if you had an extra fun time the night before at their sister restaurant/bar down the street (Elephant Bar), the Hangover Helper fresh pressed juice is the perfect remedy.
Another reason we loved this place so much is their focus on using products for the health of our planet. Even the utensils provided with takeaway are compostable. For the long term health of our planet and its inhabitants, I feel an obligation to seek out businesses whenever possible that show a clear effort to adopt sustainable practices. From a vegan for the health of the Earth perspective, businesses willing to make these extra efforts should be commended and supported by our patronage.

On our visitis we had General Tso's cauliflower bowl, Vegan Pizza, Vegan Guac Burger and Quesadillas and i've got to say they were all great!
Service was great and staff were very friendly and understood what Vegan meant, which can be a challenge sometimes.
Coffee is good too!

The food here is amazing. There’s so many vegan options and things which can be made vegan. The menu is labelled clearly and has accurate photos of the food. It is a little expensive but what can you expect from a nice establishment on a tropical island. It’s really worth a visit if you ask me!

Read moreAs a vegan, this place was pure heaven, and salvation in an island with so few good vegan options. So much so, that I ate here *at least* twice a day and was still working my way through their delicious vegan options when it was time for me to leave Koh Lipe after 5 days.
The food was fresh and flavoursome, the options were many, the staff were wonderful. I did not have a meal that wasn't awesome.
My favourites were their smoothie bowls, their Summertime pizza (made vegan, with vegan 'cheese'), the breakfast burrito (made vegan, with tofu - and impressively the burrito bread was home made and outstanding) and the Unexpected burger. There were also many salads and other items.
The location was great, on walking street; they have free drinking water, board games, clean bathroom, again - great staff really accommodating to any recipe change requests, and free wifi - all these things just added to the comfort of the restaurant - but it was totally the food that had me hooked.
It was an incredible find on an island that size, and of a calibre that I'd expect in a big city, but higher quality in freshness than many city equivalents.
It was sad to say goodbye, but this will be the first restaurant I come back to on my next Koh Lipe visit!
A couple of small suggestions would be to accept credit cards - it's cash only. Also the tumeric drink came in a very large mug so was quite diluted in taste. I think if it was a latte in a smaller cup, with a better milk:other ingredients ratio, I would have had it more than just the once. I'm usually a total fan of warm tumeric drinks.
I'll upload photos too, but I couldn't recommend this place more highly 😊 I can't wait to return. I'm still missing that incredible pizza crust.... 🍕😋

Very nice place that serves savory bowls, smoothie bowls, salads, burgers, wraps etc. Had the veggie bowl and the unexpected burger. Both were very nice. Has almond and soy milk. Cold pressed juices.
