Found this place by accident but it was a great find! It has outdoor seating in a cool shady little side street. The plantain chips are divine and the other bits we had were pretty good too. Service was slow but we didn’t mind. The African coffee was also incredible. Really enjoyed lunch here.

I am always looking for restaurant in Umbria offering vegan options. Finally I had the chance to find out where Timbuktu was and we had dinner there with some friends. We’ve tried fried platano, African beer, and a main course of rice topped with nuts sauce.

Timbu is a lovely place, they have a fair choice of vegan foods, cocktails and hot drinks.

The menu changes from time to time, depending on the mood of the cook, so you should ask which dishes are vegan/vegetarian (and which contain chicken).

The food and the price are ok, the portions are small. The staff is very friendly.
The small street where the place is, is not so crowded as the other streets at the center of the city. This makes it more cosy.

Very kind staff, who took time to translate the menu, gave some recommendations of spots to visit in the surrounding and spoke perfectly English.

Great vegan lunch - Edit
In the meantime it’s more or less 100% vegan (they only have to be vegetarian option, rest all vegan). Lovely ethnic cafe with small dishes. Outdoor seating in a quiet alley in the historic center.
