Cute place, feel good food.

Cafe Tarot was an absolute delight to to walk into on a very cold winter morning in Tokyo. We grabbed a pepper sausage muffin and the open sandwich. The “egg” had to be one of the most realistic, crazy vegan eggs I’ve ever had. Coupled with the fresh avo and Brekky sausage muffin it was both a refreshing and hearty breakfast. The price point wasn’t too bad, and just sitting in the upstairs seating area with our meals was so peaceful and tranquil, we didn’t want to leave. Definitely recommend stopping by!

Great breakfast

Great service and nice ambiance. Loved both the English Muffin and the Double Chocolate Muffin.

The tarot card theme was pretty cool, you get one with your order.

10/10 or 5/5

Amazing atmosphere, aesthetics, and food. Had the burger and open sandwich, both of which were fantastic. Coffee and matcha float also on point. The blueberry muffin was underwhelming though, but I have nothing to complain about besides that.

Nice choco muffin

Cute Tarot decorated vegan café, the bakes are also gluten free. I tried the chocolate muffin and cappuccino, they are good, both were very soft tasted, a bit pricey for a coffee.

Good food, nice atmosphere

Good, fresh food in a higher end environment. 4 stars for the food and half a star for the toilet, which was the nicest one I've been to in Japan.

Lovely fresh tasty food 🫶🏼

We got the falafel, burger and soup. Delicious flavours. There are desserts and muffins available which looked so good but we didn’t try those as had 3 meals between us both 😋

Pros: Tasty salad, Flavourful food, Quiet/relaxed atmosphere

Cozy, hidden, full-vegan cafe with super friendly staff and for me the best for breakfast in Tokio. Must try!

Great food at great prices

I opted for the Falafel plate which was delicious! They are generous with their hummus portion. The salad was a sleeper hit on the plate as I wish I could have had more. The iced matcha was delicious, the milk they used was soy milk which I believe was the only milk available for this drink.

The banana muffin was also great! The baked banana on top was a aesthically and tasteful touch.

A bit disappointing

Because all the positive reviews, we've decided to go there and it was quite out of our route there.

But the entire experience wasn't what I've expected. Food, I admit, was good. But everything else not to much. Even the portion was too small for me.

You order the food and go upstairs with a beeper. Then I had to go downstairs to pick up my tray and take it up there ... sorry, but I'm not waitress and hence not easy for me.

You get tarot card when placing an order ... but no one gave me tarot reading as it been promoted ... I had to do it by myself. Sorry, but I can do that at home.

Then you have to take the tray and put the stuff in the garbage by yourself. I mean, I would expect that in some fastfood but not at this kind of place.

I have to point out that this is my first negative review in years ... so I'm not that demanding. But this was really below all of expectations.

Pros: Food, Environment

Cons: Too small portions, No one reads tarot card, You have to bring your own tray upstairs

Fortune telling while you eat

With so many vegan restaurants, one needs a twist to be different. Cafe Tarot does this by fortune telling while you eat. That is: one orders at the entrance and is given a tarot card. While waiting for the order to be processed, the guest can read the explanation about the tarot cards. It's all free to interpretation, so there's always some truth, some negativity and some positive element to the fortune. Don't take it too serious and regard it is a nice perk.

I ordered the open sandwich, which comes with two pieces of bread. One has avocado on it and one has vegan egg on it. The latter tastes so much like chicken eggs, that it reminded me of the days when I ate them. And it wasn't a pleasant memory. This is not a taste I ever missed, so I ate only half the egg sandwich. The avocado bread was much tastier in my opinion. The side salad had a lot of dressing, so the taste of the original ingredients got lost.

For me, the food was too greasy and the egg taste was too strong. Of course tastes differ, so perhaps you enjoy it more. Or perhaps I just ordered the wrong item from the menu and I should try again. What's in the cards about that?

Pros: fun concept with the tarot card while waiting, nice place, friendly staff

Cons: sandwich was too greasy and oily for my taste

Very nice food and good prices

Very reasonably priced food, fast service and good location. The open sandwich has avocado on toast and an egg like substitute on the other slice, the salad was fresh and all flavours were delicious. The burger was great and my partner said it was the best burger he’s had. The muffins were nice but I prefer the ovgo muffins!

Cute breakfast

I ordered the granola bowl and hojicha latte. Both were lovely and not overly sweet! Nice decorations and peaceful atmosphere. The tarot card display (and the one you get with your order) is a nice touch.

I do wish they’d had a few more options for breakfast; their lunch menu looks spectacular.

Ideal breakfast spot

Not many vegan places in Tokyo seem to open this early, so this has been ideal for breakfast. They have more options on offer from 10am onwards. The egg on toast is insanely good, and they have a delicious selection of muffins. A lovely, peaceful place to start the day.

Cute, peaceful, fresh

Delicious healthy cafe. Each day there is a set food menu with several options to choose from (at least for lunch, I'm not sure if dinner is the same way). High quality fresh ingredients, and a very well-designed interior atmosphere. Peaceful and cute.

Pros: Healthy food, Fresh ingredients , Atmosphere/decor

Flawless atmospheric taste

The title should say it all but lets elaborate shall we?

The food looks exactly like the advertising and tastes even better than Id hoped. If your a foodie like me then you know how rare this is.

As im sitting here food finished, tarot cards chosen and read before me, I feel like im in a studio giblie film during an uplifting and transformational scene.

Even though my card wasnt good news, it was perfect, as it answered the question which was truly on my heart instead of the one I asked 3 times while shuffling three times, as one is supposed to do.

The same dish where im from would have been double the price, and nowhere at home can I find the atmosphere this cafe provides in abundance.

In case your wondering I ordered the open sandwhich, and im glad I did, the bread alone was worth the trip! Plus kale is a rare thing in Japan, so having that with the miso dressing really hit the spot.

Im going to go downstairs snd get a coffee and pastey, just so I can really support them to the max! 👌🙏💯❤

Lovely food and atmosphere

I had the delicious soup plate - tomato soup and a salad with a gorgeous dressing. I also had a chai which was one of the best I've ever tasted.
