One of the best restaurants in Atlanta - Edit
I love Cafe Sunflower. I have been coming here for years. Every single meal I have gotten has been delicious. I especially love their brunch. I have brought so many non-vegans here, and they have loved it too.

The spot - Edit
Seeing as this is the quintessential place to get vegan food in Atlanta I was a little disappointed by the meals I’ve had there that have been really just OK. I will still read it high because there aren’t really a ton of other vegan restaurants in Atlanta and I’m just grateful they exist.

Great Date place - Edit
The food is just okay but I do enjoy the pasta dishes. I would suggest this place for veteran vegans I wouldn't suggest it for newbies.

Cafe Sunflower - Edit
The food is ok. Unfortunately the best thing that was on the menu is no longer there so they may change the menu out seasonally. The burger was pretty good, the Carrot cake is amazing! Had a few other items that were ok. Would like more variety on what's available. Also they charge more for the same items depending on what time of day you order. So if you want to save a few bucks get there before they switch to the "dinner menu". I would give it 3.5 stars. #Veganuary

Awesome fully vegan restaurant! You can’t go wrong with any option on the menu, the brunch is also amazing! I wish I lived closer to it, but then I would have no money.

Weekly staple for our family - Edit
We go 1-2 times/week, consistently. We’ve tried everything on the menu at this point, and it’s all amazing. Have taken our non-vegan friends and family also, and they love it too! Recommend the cauliflower, the wings, avocado tacos, pad Thai, burger and always get dessert!!

Amazing all plant based food. Sunflower is 6/5 - Edit
My wife and I really enjoyed as we have for the past 5 years. It’s one of our community’s only plant-based staples in our community, and they do it well. My wife had the nourishing bowl and I had the sesame chicken. The sesame chicken is definitely my favorite. Love this place and want to continue to support Sunflower Cafe especially during the challenges of covid. Amazing experience as always!!

The Fettuccini Alfredo was amazing. If the meal wasn't so expensive I would be returning regularly. At least the portion was large. I will keep this place in mind when I want to celebrate a special occasion.

Pricy but Delish - Edit
Good flavor in most entrees/brunch items I've tried but very pricy and much smaller portions since covid. The ambience is great if you dine indoors though.

Amazing Brunch & Dinner - Edit
I’ve eaten here two times- once for brunch & once for an early dinner. Both times everything I had was absolutely incredible! I’ve tried a couple different things on the menu and honestly everything is so good- you’ll have a great meal no matter what you get!

Not equally welcoming to all - Edit
Words cannot express how poorly a friend and I were treated by multiple members of the staff at Cafe Sunflower in Buckhead on April 6, 2021. Upon entry my friend and I (both black males) were not greeted, but instead the host (a white female) engaged in an awkward staring contest as if she had forgot her job is to “warmly welcome” patrons into the restaurant.
Read moreFurther, most restaurants go to great lengths to staff attractive and/or bubbly people in the role of host staff. Instead, the host apathetically informed me the restaurant was no longer seating guests and only would accept to-go orders. This was a shock to me as I stood at the host stand at 8:02 pm. Moreover, the Google business page states the restaurant closes at 8:30 pm, meaning last seating would be at 8:15 pm at the earliest (per standard restaurant operating procedures).
So then I asked the host would it be possible to accommodate us given it was only two minutes after the newly implemented closing time of 8:00 pm. The host callously repeated her previous statement as if I did not hear her the first time, at which time I asked to speak with a manager.
I was told no manager was available and instead an equally unwelcoming server (white female- Taylor) emerged and reiterated the same tired verbiage of the host and added the early closing was due to a lack of wait staff and the kitchen being “in the weeds”. Finally after presenting a Supreme Court worthy appellate argument for why we should be seated my friend and I were seated.
The sad part is while I cannot definitively say we were racially profiled by the staff it sure felt that way, as I stood there as a 36-year-old black man with my childhood friend adorning his natural locs. Moreover, all I could think was would two white men in suits be treated this way or two Buckhead Betty(s) (a colloquial term for affluent white women in Buckhead that do not work.)
Further, the food came out on time, with no delays for the appetizers or entrees. In fact the entrees arrived while we were still eating our appetizer. The bottom line is a restaurant is the last place that should make any one feel unwelcome, as such a disposition is antithetical to hospitality. In that moment I felt like I was transported to the 1960(s) being told I could go around back to get my food. Why should I have to feel this way? Why should I have to revisit these uncomfortable feelings as I unpack this stressful interaction?

Favorite Vegan Restaurant - Edit
I am a regular at this place. I live 30 miles away but whenever I’m in town, I make it a point to stop by for whatever meal happens to be appropriate. Heck, I don’t even have to be in town… Their brunch is incredible! The service is impeccable and I love supporting a local family business. I highly recommend Sunday brunch (Tofu Benedict), shrimp tacos for lunch, and the fettuccine Alfredo for dinner. The pad Thai is also amazing.

Yummy and Casual - Edit
I tried cafe sunflower for lunch with my boyfriend. It was a beautiful day, so we were able to sit outside. It appeared their patio was dog friendly since another patron had their dog with them.
Read moreWe tried the buffalo lollipops and fried avocado tacos. Both were so delicious! I especially enjoyed the fried avocado tacos.
For lunch I had the soy chicken Cesar salad and my boyfriend had the shrimp tacos. My Cesar salad was great! I always enjoy such a simple classic done very well. And boyfriend said his shrimp tacos were excellent! He’s wanted to try vegan shrimp and said these tacos not the spot and did not disappoint. They also had a yummy looking dessert menu. I was full but took the chocolate raspberry mousse to go. I ate it later and it was so rich, smooth, and creamy! It was very good!
Pros: 100% vegan; great takes on classic foods, Friendly staff , Patio seating

Totally Plant-Based - Edit
Cafe Sunflower has so many more vegan options than a veggie burger or lettuce with vinaigrette. Everything I’ve had from here was delicious. The ambience is alright, too. It’s a great place to go for wine and dessert when you’re in the mood for that. My only complaint is that the manager was kind of rude.

Yummy food with gluten free options - Edit
We really enjoyed eating here! This is the first time I have ever seen vegan gluten free pasta served at a restaurant and I jumped on it. The fettucii alfredo was really good, very hearty. It could have used some salt but overall was good. I haven't eaten that since before I was vegan, over 7 years ago. So this was really great to get. My wife also got spring rolls which were really good.

Not as good as the other location - Edit
Really sad the other location closed! First time at this location. The food here was definitely not as good. It was decent, but no where the same quality of flavor.
Read moreThe avocado tacos are delicious! The lasagna is not the same but okay. The salad that came with it had an off flavor, kind of like Windex smells; inedible.
The sesame soy "chicken" was okay. The "chicken" was a great substitute. The sauce flavor was just salty and spicy, however. And there was so much sauce I couldn't eat the rice, so I ended up basically eating just the "chicken" pieces and mushrooms.
Left hungry. Never a good sign.
Pros: Avocado tacos were good, Good service
Cons: Not as good as expected, Salad tasted off, Sesame soy chicken not good
