CLOSED: Cafe Sketch

We drove out to Cheddar for cream tea but didn't realise there was a Sunday roast option... So we chose both!

The roast was delicious. Strong flavours and a decent portion size too. The cream tea was our dessert choice - I've never eaten such a succulent scone. The cream was amazing as well as the fruit.

Fantastic little cafe with a lovely decor and relaxed atmosphere. My only disappointment was that we didn't find this Cafe earlier in our break.
We popped in for breakfast before leaving and enjoyed cheese on toast and beans on toast.
It sounds simple but both dishes were homemade using organic spelt and rye breads and the home made beans were Delicious. The food is served on slates and the coasters are vinyl records which is a nice touch.The prices are very fare considering everything is Organic and freshly made.
Vegan or Veggie I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Cafe and support a local business that is making an effort to champion quality produce.

Ate here with a Vegan friend from the US having found the place on Happy Cow. Love the relaxed, informal and eclectic atmosphere. Stunning food, superb value and lovely family style service. Wish we lived closer (we were visiting from Plymouth) so we could eat here regularly; you must visit this place.

The food was all delicious, the staff were all delightful, and the decor was fun. Make a point to pop in if you're in the Cheddar area, or even if you're not in the area. Just come for Sketch Cafe. You'll love it!

It's so rare to stumble upon a vegan restaurant when on our travels. But that's exactly what happened here. All food is organic and freshly prepared. The staff are super friendly. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. We need more of these around the country!

We found this lovely cafe through Happy Cow, and made a trip to the area especially. We weren't disappointed. The food is almost all organic and vegetarian, with a range of choices for vegans. The owner chatted with us about his beliefs in good food. If you come in the evening, they have regular themed nights, such as Mediterranean tapas, and thali. This cafe really deserves to be a great success. It's also near the Cheddar Gorge caves and other attractions, which made the day really fun. We will be back soon!

I've been here twice now and the food and hospitality is amazing! There is very limited choice for a vegan in the area. Well worth the visit! Thoroughly recommend this venue!

My vegan family and I are traveling through England and HappyCow has been an invaluable resource... we took a day trip to Cheddar to visit the gorge and caves and were a little concerned about whether or not we'd be able to eat anywhere in town. We saw Cafe Sketch and headed over at lunch time. Firstly, the decor and furnishings are very unique and inviting. It's an art space, with all hand crafted floors and tables from re-purposed cable spools. The walls are adorned with original art, as is a chill-out room behind the dining room. I believe they are going to have rotating monthly artists - there is a gallery space upstairs as well. All in all, you can tell it is run by/and welcomes creative people.

Our lunch was quite good... Moroccan vegetable soup with fresh bread, followed by a vegan scone with margarine and jam. They had plenty of other vegan options, we chose our lunch to compliment the rainy day outside.

We had a nice chat with the owner and his mom afterwards... lovely people, indeed. We were only passing through, but if we were in the area more often, we'd definitely be here quite a bit.

And they're open late! Definitely pay them a visit.
