Not the best

I go for walks there a lot and sometimes want to grab something quick. I ordered a veggie sausage butty which took 20min to be made. It ended up only being the bread and a sausage, no other ingredients, which was dry.
Glad they try to make vegan food but it turns out to take a long time and the quality is disappointing.

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Food takes ages to prepare, Butties are dry, Pricey for the quality

The history of modern

Fabulous location just on the Derwent Walk and cycle path. Quite an intriguing place surrounded in history. The falafel wrap was delicious but the sausage roll had seen better days and the vegan flapjack and brownie were standard home made fare. Plenty of seating inside and out. Overall, a most enjoyable visit.

Pros: Location , Nice interior

Park life

A lovely cafe with about a third of the menu suitable for vegans. The options available are also very good as well. We ordered a hotdog each with onions and garlic mayo, which were delicious and a very good texture and a sausage roll to share that was flavoursome but the pastry was a bit too flaky. To give us some energy on our walking route we also bought two treacle flapjacks and some hot drinks. The flapjacks were awesome by the way and the coffee and latte I'd give a big thumbs up too 👍. I would definitely recommend a visit to the heritage centre and café.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Tasty food, Friendly staff

Handy

Useful to know this place is here as on a good walking route in an otherwise vegan desert area. Takeaway during covid etc but well managed. Good vegan sausage rolls and hot drinks. Option to round up card payment for charity. 1 toilet round the front.

Pros: Handy for walk route, Tasty sausage rolls
