Best Vegan Food in Kitchener. Worth the drive. - Edit
So really, the main reason you will want to come here is for their Breakfast Griller. A farmer's bun filled with Vegan Egg. Tempeh bacon and Daiya is surprisingly one of THE best breakfast sandwiches you will find. Their hot drinks and baked treats are good too but that Griller will keep you coming back to Kitchener.
Read morePros: Breakfast Griller, Masala Chai Latte, A lovely open concept dining area.
Cons: Could use pizza options., More breakfast items.

Found this little gem - Edit
Was visiting the area from out of town and was pleasantly surprised to run into this vegan restaurant. It's all vegan unless you specifically request dairy milk or cheese.
Read moreHad the Big Bang Crispy tofu sandwich that was delicious. The crispy chips was OK would prefer actual fries or wedges.
And they are open Mondays despite what's listed on Happy Cow
Pros: All vegan unless you request dairy cheese/milk , Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere

Do not miss Cafe Pyrus - Edit
I have been going to the cafe for years and I appreciate it more every time. I am so glad that they seem to be making it through the pandemic. The food is delicious and suits everyone in the family: veg, vegan, and GF alike. Plus they will always adjust for allergies.

Really wonderful cafe! - Edit
My hubby and I came here from out of town and made a point to stop by based on prior reviews. It did not disappoint! There was live music (which they said wasn’t the norm, unfortunately, because we loved it!) We ordered the special, Prost Berliner, which was a tempeh, kraut & cucumbers on a pretzel bun. We also ordered The Angry Vegan. Both were pretty delicious! I also ordered a pumpkin steamer, which was truly tasty. I wouldn’t say that I would go out of my way to come here, but I would definitely come back if I were in Kitchener again. Make sure to order a hot beverage with your meal if it’s chilly!!

Why the cow cheese tho? - Edit
I had the “Angry Vegan” sandwich with Kaleslaw. It was DELICIOUS! Not sure why they offer cow cheese on everything because the vegan cheese is so much better in my opinion! They also have Kombucha on tap and it was very good!
Read morePros: Nice atmosphere, Friendly staff, Amazing food
Cons: They serve cow cheese and milk products, It’s vegan but it’s not vegan, Why aren’t they totally vegan?

my favourite neighbourhood cafe - Edit
I've been going to CP since 2013, it has my heart. They have gluten-free options. Fresh baked goods everyday (half gf). Monthly specials, espresso bar, breakfast to dinner they've got you covered. I cannot speak more highly of this establishment. I have brought dates, friends, and parents, with everyone leaving satisfied whether they are vegan or not.

Do not miss if you're in Kitchener! - Edit
My omni boyfriend and I went here for breakfast and had the breakfast wrap and breakfast club with mango creamsicle shake and chai shake - everything was incredible, my very fussy bf loved it and said they were some of these best shakes and sandwiches he had ever had. We even went back later that day before we left Kitchener to get more sandwiches to take away - the angry vegan and the reuben - this place knows how to make an amazing sandwich. Highly recommend, don't miss it if you're in Kitchener.

Love it - Edit
The waffles are store bought (Selections or Compliments gluten free, I hear.. Sobeys) frozen, some items are pre-mixed so bad if you hate one ingredient (tomatoes for me).. but other than that, great place. Been there several times, along with a meat eater friend. The foggy london tea is amazing when they have their lavender syrup.

Favourite veg cafe in KW - Edit
Delicious vegan food, lots of options regardless of what you're looking for (gluten-free, healthy, indulgent, kid-friendly, etc). Very casual vibe. Big enough for large groups. Cow milk and cheese is offered along with vegan milks and Daiya; be sure to specify if you want vegan when you order. Pyrus has really improved over the years in atmosphere, cleanliness, and customer service. The Big Bang, Club Sandwich, and Kale Caesar are my favourites.
