Read moreLocated on a corner of two quiet residential streets Café Palhinhas will invite you in with lovely vegan and vegetarian food. The menu is full of great food choices. Please check out their Facebook page for daily dish and come for early lunch to avoid disappointment.
Selection of dishes including burgers, salads, and soups. Generous portions and even vegan deserts.
The staff are inviting and accomodating.

Trata-se de um restaurante vegetariano com várias opções vegan, localizado no centro da Figueira da Foz. Tem menus do dia e oferece opções ligeiras (quiches, empadas, hamburgueres, panados, etc). Provei a sopa (de beterraba, com creme de soja e salsa) que estava deliciosa, e uma fatia da bôla de seitan (vegan), que adorei. Os preços são extremamente acessíveis (esta refeição leve ficou por 3,5 euros).

The À Palhas burger has no competition! - Edit
I travel all over the world for business and I’m 100% plant based, so I have eaten many,many vegan burgers, none of them can compare with this burger. My first bite brought tears of joy to my eyes. The flavors are too many to list, yet they all work together like a perfect marriage. The red onions and greens add the right amount of flavor and texture. The bread the burger is served on, is so good, it deserves its own review. If you are traveling in Portugal, a visit to Cafe Palhinhas has to be on your list.

Vermutlich das einzige vegetarische Restaurant in Figueira da Foz, das den Namen Restaurant verdient (zum Beispiel nenne ich einen Pizza-Lieferdienst kein Restaurant). Leider ist die Rezension von CharityS (11. 4. 2022) nicht hilfreich, da nicht gesagt wird, WOHIN das Restaurant umgezogen ist. Tatsächlich befindet sich Ye-Ye NICHT an der Rua da Fonte 18 und demnach NICHT im Bike-Hotel an dieser Adresse, sondern an der Kreuzung der Rua Galamba Marques und der Rua Combatantes da Grande Guerra und wird dort von Google-Maps auch gefunden.

Only mostly vegan restaurant in Figueira da Foz we were able to find. We had delicious lunch there - full of flavour, fresh and healthy. Also, dessert was amazing. We were delighted that our dog was welcomed inside and he even got a treat! Unfortunately, not very common in Portugal.

O menu varia diariamente e é possível acompanhá-lo já pela manhã através das redes sociais (IG e FB). Já provei de tudo e a comida sempre esteve saborosíssima, com porções bem generosas. Também as sobremesas, sumos, salgados, cafés... Não tenho nada de negativo a apontar. O espaço é pequeno, portanto aconselham-nos a reservar antecipadamente (por telefone, e não por rede social). Seria ótimo se pudessem estender o horário para lanches vespertinos. :-)

In addition to soup, natural juice and the main dish of the day, they generally offer three options for snacks and desserts; the only non-vegan dish is usually "quiche". The menu varies daily and it is possible to follow it in the morning through social networks (IG and FB). I've tasted everything and the food has always been very tasty, with generous portions. Also desserts, juices, snacks, coffees... I have nothing negative to point out. The space is small, so we are advised to book in advance (by phone, not social media). It would be great if they could extend the time for afternoon snacks. :-)

They have delicious and cheap lunch option that’s including soup, main course, alcohol or alcohol free drink, Coffe. Very good service, we were luckily serviced of a really sweet lady who could explain in English for us. Highly recommended place.

Pt: Eu fui de férias com a minha familia e com sorte havia este restaurante vegetariano. O espaço era pequeno mas muito preenchido, o que lhe dava bastante vida. Adorei o ambiente. Era muito agradável e confortável. A comida tinha uma ótima apresentação e muito sabor! Fiquei muito feliz porque a maioria dos pratos era vegan e havia preocupação pelo ambiente (por exemplo, usava-se palhinhas de inox, em vez das de plástico). Os meus pais e irmão, apesar de não serem vegetarianos ou vegan, adoraram. Sem dúvida recomendo.

It was nice and cozy. The food had a great presentation and a lot of flavor! I was very happy because most of the dishes were vegan and they cared about the planet (for example, they used inox straws instead of plastic ones). My parents and brother, although not vegetarian or vegan, they loved it. Highly recommend.

We were in town for a festival and luckily this restaurant, one of the few vegan options, was nearby. Fresh food, tasty, casual. The waitress was super helpful and friendly. Great value, too!

What a wonderful an unexpected find! Travelling in Portugal on vacation looking for a decent meal other than bread, olive oil, salad and wine has been a little challenging. But with a little effort there are places to be found.
