Veeery exotic burgers - Edit
The vegan burgers were very creative, but a little too creative for me. The burgers had for example potato pancakes (Kartoffelpuffer) and jackfruit on them. The cheese was a little bit slimy and didn't have a good consistency. I liked the patty though.

Amazing food - Edit
The food was amazing, we even wondered if it was vegan because it tasted so real. We had three dishes from the special menu. And it was a big portion for a good prize. Afterwards we played some pool. Definitely a nice bar to go for the evening

It always has some vegan food but especially Tuesdays are good for a changing vegan menu. Monday is burger day and Sunday Tex Mex with great vegan options😄

Super leckeres veganes Essen!! - Edit
Jeden Dienstag ist Hin und Veg im Nord mit einer komplett veganen alle paar Wochen thematisch wechselnden Speisekarte. Bisher waren alle veganen Gerichte immer super lecker. Auch montags beim Burger Tag gibt es immer eine Karte mit tollen veganen Burgern. Und auch auf der Standardkarte gibt es leckere vegane Gerichte, die Vegane Jambalaya ist da definitiv mein Liebling, geht einfach immer!!

Im Nord arbeiten viele, vegan ambitionierte, Menschen.. Jeden Tag kann man dort fantastisch vegan essen, die Sondertage sind nochmal ein Extra oben drauf.. ich bin noch nie von einem veganen Gericht enttäuscht worden.. Von Grünkohl, über Burger, Tacos bis Lahmancun.. alles köstlich

Many things to chose from. But we had to wait 2 hours for a vegan pizza and some loaded fries (They forgot our order 2 times in a row). Music is nice and you can play pool upstairs.

Die monatlich wechselnde vegane Karte "Hin und veg" gibt es jeden Dienstag ab 18.00 Uhr. Die Kombinationen des Speisenangebotes sind richtig gut und IMMER sehr lecker. Das Dessert grundsätzlich ein Kracher!

Die spezielle vegane Dienstags-Karte wechselt jeden Monat und hat immer ein Länder-Motto. Damit bietet sie nicht nur sehr gute Speisen, sondern viele Geschmäcker und Kombinationen, die man sonst nicht überall so geboten bekommt.
Read moreJenseits des Dienstags gibt es auch ein ganz gutes Angebot veganer Speisen im NORD, die definitiv kein reines „Kneipenessen“ und auf der Karte übersichtlich gekennzeichnet zu erkennen sind.
Die recht „robuste“ Umgebung und Gestaltung sind allerdings sicher nicht jedermanns Sache… 🙃

Read moreNachdem wir so oft gehört hatten, wie toll der Laden und wie klasse das vegane Angebot sein sollte, haben wir es selbst einmal ausprobiert. Nun, das Essen hat uns traurig gemacht. Die Präsentation war ja noch ganz ordentlich, aber geschmacklich einfach enttäuschend. Irgendwie muffig, fad und lieblos. Das Patty wollte einfach nicht zusammenhalten und war auch einfach nicht definierbar. Wir können nicht nachvollziehen, warum viele das so loben, für uns einfach bitter. Dazu war die Bedienung ziemlich aufdringlich. Nach jeder ihrer Zigaretten, stand sie bei uns und fragte was wir noch bräuchten. Schon klar, dies kann als Service gesehen werden, aber alle fünf Minuten und bestimmt 7 mal, ist einfach too much.
After hearing so many times how great the shop should be and how great the vegan offer should be, we tried it ourselves. Well, the food made us sad. The presentation was still quite neat, but simply disappointing in terms of taste. Somehow musty, bland and loveless. The patty just didn't want to stick together and was simply not definable. We cannot understand why many praise this so much, for us simply bitter. In addition, the waitress was quite intrusive. After each of her cigarettes, she stood with us and asked what else we needed. Sure, this can be seen as a service, but every five minutes and certainly 7 times, is just too much.

Heavy Metal dinner - Edit
If you're like me and like at least one of the following things, Cafe Nord is the right place for you to spend an evening: vegan food (e.g. burgers, fries, chili sin carne, or weekly specials), beer, heavy metal, playing pool. The place itself and some of the surrounding clubs are basically the epicenter of the metal scene in the Ruhr area, so if all that sounds like fun to you, you'll feel very welcome here.

This pub has been there for quite a while. One of the few places in the city centre with a decent choice of metal and rock music and a laid-back atmosphere. The owners changed a few years ago, the Nord is now run by a few ladies and the food has improved considerably since. The staff is also very nice mostly. As was said in previous comments, there is always a choice of vegetarian and vegan dishes which are clearly marked in the menu.

Metal bar in Essen with tons of vegan options, pool tables and a large nice outside area (in the summer). Many vegan options on the regular menu and on some days there is another special card:
