Very sweet marzipan and lots of tourists - Edit
This is a hotspot of tourists and I cannot understand it. The marzipan is too sweet in my opinion and most of the products can be bought also far away from Lübeck at supermarkets like Edeka. If you want to get a really good Lübeck marzipan, go to Mest or Marzipanspeicher, their marzipan contains more almond and tastes not so sweet. The cafe above the store is also often crowded.

I have known Niederegger's Marzipein since I was a child. So I really wanted to go there for coffee and cake. There was 1 vegan option (cheesecake). The atmosphere was nice, but honestly the cake was very disappointing. I bought some gifts in the store for friends who are not vegan, hopefully that tastes better.

Es gibt im Café oben einen veganen Käsekuchen, der uns sehr gut geschmeckt hat. Zum Kaffee lässt sich Hafermilch bestellen, und das ohne Aufpreis (was leider nicht selbstverständlich ist). Der Kaffee war sehr lecker. Die Kellnerin war sehr freundlich, hübsches Ambiente.

Very okay cheesecake as the only vegan cake option upstairs. It tastes quite dry and bland like there’s no added flavouring and is not that sweet. Had a mint tea which was nice though

Been there this morning and they did not show any vegan cakes. I have asked for it and they actually had one, but it was not advertised. I had a cheese cake which was alright. I expected some marcipane in it. Obviously, because it's Niederegger...

Went for breakfast in this lovely place with the nicest interior. The vegan options weren't that many but I had a bowl of porridge that was tasty and had a lot of nice toppings. I wanted to order the hot chocolate but for some reason they couldn't serve it on that particular day.
Read moreThe place was insanely clean. In the bathroom there was a person cleaning the stalls the second you left it. That was a first for me but I do love a clean bathroom so even though I was a little surprised at first I very much liked the level of cleanness!

They sell vegan marzipan! - Edit
I grew up eating Niederegger marzipan and now that I’m vegan I was so pleased to find that they now offer vegan chocolate covered marzipan. Their marzipan is so good! While the cafe upstairs has little to offer vegans I’m glad in the store does.

Auf Nachfrage keine pflanzlichen Milchsorten und ebenfalls keine pflanzlichen Kuchen oder Torten. Kellner selbst hatte auch keine Ahnung von dem veganen Eis in der Karte. War dann aber auch nicht vorhanden, als wir bestellt hatten.

When I went, they only had one vegan cake, but it was very good. They also had oat milk with the tea / coffee. The tea / coffee is served with a small, complimentary biscuit which is not vegan but unfortunately the waitress still brought them even though we all ordered vegan cake and asked for oat milk. So probably best to mention up front that you don't want any biscuits so they aren't wasted.

We ordered a tea, marzipan cafe and one of the lunches. The food was very delicious. We didn't try cakes, but when we were there, one of the cakes was marked as vegan.
