Tasty vegan classics - Edit
Tasty food and warm welcoming service. We enjoyed trying vegan versions of some Bolivian classics, and having an all-vegan menu was a welcome relief! There was only one woman working there so service is slow, but if you bring a book and prepare to have a coffee while you wait then you’ll still have an enjoyable experience.

I was scammed by the staff. I am saddened by this because the staff was otherwise very friendly.
Read moreCassandra (the owner) took my order of one empanada and one hamburguesa. She didn’t mention anything about the prices being different than what was written on the menu.
When it came the time to pay, the bill came up to 38 BS. I was confused since the burger is listed at 12 BS and the empanada at 3 BS. Guillermo (one of the staff), told me that the empanada was 18 BS and not 3 BS. When I showed him the menu, he told me “oh, we gave you something different”. I asked him why no one informed me and he could only give me a “sorry”.
Regarding the burger, Guillermo had asked me if I wanted potatoes with the burger, which I accepted. He never mentioned that it would cost 8 BS more. I accept part of the blame for this one since it’s normal the cost would be higher with a side of potatoes. I would have expected them to write the price on the menu or to inform me beforehand though. I feel the intention was dishonest from them.
All in all, I won’t be coming back to this café. The staff is double-faced and probably taking advantage of tourists.

I had the vegan pizza, which is not like a western vegan pizza but rather with some sort of blended sauce instead of cheese. It was pretty decent. The service was very good and friendly. The falafel dish was good for the price. The locally brewed beer was very sweet and strong - a bit too much for our taste.

Delicious Vegan Food - Edit
I visited this small and cosy restaurant twice during my stay in the Sopocachi region of La Paz. On arrival you can immediately help yourself to a buffet style salad with hot tea or water. You are later provided with hot soup, followed by a main meal. Dishes change daily! Information on cooking classes, meditation and yoga is provided. Definitely the cheapest place to eat vegan food in La Paz and probably my favourite!

The best vegan place in La Paz - Edit
This place offers a lunch menu every weekday for 15 bolivianos (under 2 euros). The food is great, light and tasty. They could easily charge much more but they don't to make vegan food accessible, since this is perhaps the only vegan place in La Paz that is actually actively engaged in the animal rights movement. Ask them for regular events and classes; I attended a great meditation session that included a dinner and was pay-what-you-can.
