Worth a visit

Had the vegan pizza and fruit tea. Both were pretty good, and the pizza was definitely a good sized portion. Would come back for dinner if in the area.

Wechselnde Gerichte

Pros: Wechselndes Wochengericht, Vegane Kaffeealternativen

Go for starter & dessert, leave the main

Nice restaurant which is at rush hours always full, so better come early or late.
Interior is also nice, has character and has welcoming vibes.
It was nice to see that they had at least one Vegan options for each service (starter, main and dessert).
I went for the starter, which a Tofu based strudel on a bed of red cabbage and pesto purée. The strudel was nicely crispy from the outside and soft from the inside. The filling was also very tasty.
Maybe a bit too much red cabbage, but overall, nice choice.
Then, came the main daily main dish, which was a bowl of quinoa and lentils fried in a pan, with some marinated carrots.
I found it already quite surprising when reading the name of the dish, and once served, it confirmed my doubts.
It was literally just a plate full of a mix of lentils and quinoa, with 4 poor slices of carrots.
The visual was colorless, and the taste was super bland.
The main was disappointing, while the starter was encouraging, but this made me not wanting to try out the dessert (tapioca pudding).

Update: we were excited for a nice lunch in the sun so went back to this place where they have a nice big terrace. This week’s vegan dish was a salat with grilled vegetables, which could have been a good-to-go choice especially with this heat, but my eyes went for the “Asian” style summer bowl composed of sushi rice, mango, champignons, seaweed, red cabbage and sweet potatoes. Of course I asked for a spice sauce, which the waiter was more than happy to bring me. The bowl was very refreshing since everything was cold and the combination with the homemade chili sauce/oil made it even better.
This experience has given me hope, and I will come back for another discovery vegan dish, next time from their weekly menu.

Update: I went there again to try out their autumn menu, and this time I chose the Kürbis (pumpkin) tartar. This starter was lovely seasoned and laid on a bed of red lentils which were nicely soft. It was topped with their homemade ricotta, which was very smooth and paired perfectly with the rest. I recommend to try it out!
