Cinnamon roll, shiitake mushroom musubi, samosa & mocha MacNut late

Got the cinnamon roll wamed up and was good! If you don't get it warmed up I'm sure it would have been a little dry. I was excited to try their new vegan grilled cheesze but they were out. There was a sign inside and outside advertising the grilled chez but it would have been nice if they had a sold out sign on their advertisements of the vegan grilled cheese. The shiitake mushroom musubi was good. You have the option of getting it warmed up or cold but I had it cold and enjoyed it. They were also out of the vegan dumplings (another bummer) so I got the samosas. Over all the food was good. I would definitely go back for the musubi! I also got the mocha MacNut late with almond milk. The base is dairy free and delicious #Veganuary

Hit or miss..

Update: Very disappointed in the food and coffee we ordered today (08/06). We went in at 8:30am and ordered the strawberry shortcake ($6.50) and cinnamon roll. The strawberry shortcake was incredibly stale and we ended up just throwing it away. The shortcake was stale and strawberries looked old. Our lattes were subpar and the chai was ok. I would love to support this cafe more, but most of our visits have been hit or miss. There’s been times where we’ve loved the baked goods and they’ve been fresh and well done with great coffee, but then times like this morning where we are left disappointed. We’ve gone to Cafe Kopi at least once every two weeks and then once a week recently, but this will probably be our last time. Hope things will improve again (since there have been some excellent experiences) but don’t feel like gambling with $30-$40.

Review from week prior:
Pros: friendly staff, vegan options, owners seem sweet, cool artwork on the wall for sale
Cons: vegan options run out fast, cafe can look unkempt, will get very busy

Longer review: Love stopping by Cafe Kopi for their vegan treats and chai lattes. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The food takes a long time, so if you’re in a rush I wouldn’t get anything. The cafe allows dogs, but sometimes that results in dog hair covering the ground or someone’s dog stinking up the place (a shame, it’s unfair to responsible dog owners). The other downside is that it can look a little dirty on occasion, not something that the cafe could be blamed for but something to try to work on (if possible, I noticed staff can get overwhelmed quickly by guests). It does look like they need to deep clean more often, but hard to say if they do already and the foot traffic just takes over.
